Kaltxì!

(...btw, it's the first word in Na'vi I wrote!..)

How to say "Happy New Year"?

Siltsan.... zisit... ?
"New" is = ?

Alìm Tsamsiyu

I would imagine, with the limited vocabulary we have at the moment, you'd have to say something like...

Zìsìt-yä sngä'ikrr a-le-fpom ngaru leiu!
Year-GEN beginning ATTR-ADJ-well.being you-DAT be<LAUD>!
Lit: Year's beginning of well-being toward you be! (Yay!).
Happy beginning of the year to you! :D

But, since the "to you" part is unsaid and understood in the English "Happy New Year!" I suppose you could just say:

Zìsìtyä sngä'ikrr alefpom!
Oeyä ayswizawri tswayon alìm ulte takuk nìngay.
My arrows fly far and strike true.

Irayo, smukan!

Who knows, maybe it's the first time, when these words were said in Na'vi!

I think I cried a tear of joy after reading that. I was thinking a more simple version:
Sngä'i zìsìt nìsìltsan
Begin year well.

Great work! Now trying to say that is a different accomplishment.

Thank you, I am going to send my new-year-eve text messages in na'vi! :)

Alìm Tsamsiyu

Pxay irayo, oeyä txe'lan alefpom!!
Many thanks, my heart is happy!

Yay! I feel like I'm actually starting to think in Na'vi since you all like my interpretation of the sentence so much!

Kìyevame, ulte zìsìtyä sngä'ikrr alefpom ayngaru leiu!

Very nice translation!

Could you just explain a-le-fpom (ATTR-ADJ-well.being) to me?

sngä'ikrr a-le-fpom

Adding le before a noun makes it an adjective therefore fpom (well being) becomes an adjective le-fpom almost an "of well being"
Adding a to an adjective shows the noun it modifies, it always goes on the side closest the noun. a-le-fpom means it is modifying the word before it sngä'ikrr.
Beginning time of well bell being.

- I hope I helped, took me some time to decipher it myself.

Sngä'i zìsìt nìsìltsan!
Happy New Year to everyone!

At this time, I want to thank Cameron, to make all this possible. He is the king of his world he created. And I give the scepter to him.
I take my hat off to you, James!

Now I'm off, see you in 2010! ;)
