Lol I use CS 1 normally (though the vids were done in CS4)

Those vids are probably the most in depth I'll ever get (there are 4 of them plus a timelapse of the last part) so watch all of 'em mrnapolean, and relax. Try not to think so much on the end product, and focus instead on learning

i wonder how much difference there is between CS2 and CS4? Huh
BTW i DID watch all the videos. Cool

UPDATE: i tried and followed his tutroial as the best i can and i still cant do it. it didn't look right.

You know what they say?  Practice makes perfect

Of course, it won't make you perfect, but it will make you better.  You'll be able to identify and fix problems with proportion.  Don't give up!

I aspire to become like Dr. Norm Spellman.

Aliens have always been the bad guy.  It's nice to see humans in a less than flattering light.  Sangheili and Na'Vi:  two totally awesome alien species.

Same, I'm doing a friend and I've got the nose and the brow all right ish, but it still doesn't look enough like skin Undecided

I did my one using a different method so the nose and eyes aren't as good, will redo it at some point.

When the film first came out (and I didnt know this site existed) I made scads of manipulations for friends and myself using Photoshop elements 2.0 (for those who don't know, that is an ancient program) and an Intuous 2 Tablet that I still use regularly. I recently got a copy of CS4, and after reading through this thread, Im stoked about doing a few more of these, and improving on my last pics.

I think the big things to remember about the proportional differences between Humans and Na'vi/Avatar bodies (and most common mistakes) are the ear placement and eye shape. And, of course, making the stripes look natural, with organic shapes and not TOO much darker than the surrounding skin.

Just my two cents  Tongue
