Scene 1

Spoiler

Pandoran Humans base, aircraft chamber.
Outcast, Jake, Stan, and two of the other aircraft maintenance tech's (with exopacks as appropriate).
Outcast "Ok, Mo'at says we go get Neytiri back."
Jake, firm, but friendly "So do I."
Outcast "This means building a vehicle from scratch, none of us has hands on with any of the technology. We have no plans, no specifications, and no component parts to use."
Moment of silence as the enormity of the task sinks in. Glum and thoughtful faces all round.
Jake "You told me there was a quarantined mining station."
Outcast, dismissively "Quarantined." pause, looking deep in thought, then brightens "But it does have a technical library."
Stan "Can you access it remotely?"
Outcast "Me? No. But I know who can."
Stan "You're a marine species ..... "
Outcast "Yes ..... "
Stan " ..... so your technology is designed to operate, immersed in water?"
Outcast, concerned, "Yes. At around a thousand Psi."
Collection of quiet gasps from the technicians.
Stan "The human body can't take that."
Jake "Pretty sure Na'vi can't either."
Stan "Two separate compartments then."
Outcast, "Main drive is a cage like structure that needs to fully enclose the rest of the ship."
Stan  "We'll nest the compartments."
First tech, "It's a spacecraft, with a submarine inside?"
Outcast "Looks like it, yeah."
Second tech "So now we need to build a UFO and a submarine!"
Fist tech, despairing slightly "This gets better and better."
We hear the sound of an approaching C21.
Jake "We have best part of six years, the best technicians out there and Outcast's ..... thing. This is a done deal. Isn't it?"
The others look at Jake sceptically.
Outcast sighs "Maybe. And it's called an assembler." and holds up the thing that's not a TV remote, in a very casual manner.
Jake starts in a normal voice but has to get louder and eventually shout as the C21 sweeps into the camber.
Jake "Who's coming to Hell's Gate with me? Ty, Hegner and two others where still in the cells, probably still are a. Better to take Max and a couple of medics." hesitates "Just in case." , as Trudy shuts off the engines.
Stan "We should continue this conversation on the route."
Trudy opens the side door and leans out with a big smile.
Trudy "See? Brought her back without so much as a scratch."
Trudy notices a small mark where a bullet just skimmed the door frame, it's not done any real damage, but.
She puts a hand over it in a casual way and smiles innocently.
Stan see this and gives her a disapproving look that is slightly ruined by struggling to hide his own smile.
Jake to Trudy "We need to round up Max and a couple of medics, and get back to Hell's Gate, a-sap." as he hurries over to her.
Trudy "Why? What's up?"
Jake "Hopeful nothing. Up for another jail break?"
Trudy smiles, "Expecting casualties?"
Jake "I hope not."
Jake helps the others board before entering, and closing the door, as Trudy enters the cockpit, fires up the engines and puts her helmet on.
The gunship sweeps back out of the chamber.

Cut to camera looking down from high above, we see the C21 head off.
We hear the voices of the conversation continue.
Stan "We still have the drawings for a proposed mini sub. From back when the RDA were still backing plans to explore pandoras oceans, should handle a thousand psi, with maybe a few mods."
Outcast "Handy, should save a bit of time."

We rejoin the team inside the C21.
Stan "That, err, assembler, how many are there?"
Outcast "This one, and my predecessor here had one, but I can't find it."
Stan looks glum "Pity"
Outcast "I can use this one to make more, lots more."
Second tech "How long would it take?"
Outcast "Twenty minutes."
First tech "So you could have more than a million in, um, six hours and twenty minutes."
Outcast "Well, theoretically, but you need to program each one, set it up and clear the new one so that the next one can form. I't would take ten day's or so for a million."
First tech looks a little disappointed.
Outcast "How long does it take a stereo lithography plant to make a new stereo lithography plant?"
Stan "Months! And you have to put it together, plus there's a few parts it can't make."
Jake "Can two be used to make one thing in half the time?"

Cut to view from above again,Trudy's C21 coming into land in the clearing with the field hospital.
Voice of Outcast "Don't know, it might be possible, would sure speed things up."

We see from the clearing the C21 come in and touch down. Jake opens the side door as soon as the wheels touch the floor he is out and running over to the tent.
Trudy shuts off the rotors and the engines spool down to idle.
Max is packing up equipment and looking sad. Sees Jake.
Jake "Ready?"
Max beckons to Cindy, Bill and avatar Norm."Let's go."
Jake, Max, Cindy and Avatar Norm run to the C21, Bill runs to his modified Samson. The C21 is in the air first, the Samson thirty seconds behind it.

Cut to inside the C21
In the background we see Outcast, Stan and the two other tech talking among themselves. In the foreground Max, Cindy and Jake enter the bridge of the C21, Jake slips on his Endopack.
Jake "We need to know what to expect in there."
Max "I'll see if I can access the Hell's Gate CCTV."
Trudy "It's password protected."
All look at Trudy with a how did you find that out kind of expression.
Max "I know what the password is, was, let's hope they haven't changed it."
Cindy and Jake look at max with a how did you find that out kind of expression. Trudy glances round, then looks ahead again.
Max goes to the side facing console behind the Trudy.
Jake sits, kind of awkwardly.
Max "I'm in." pause "Prisoners look bored, but unharmed." pause "No one in there guarding them." pause "Or in the corridor outside." pause "Looks clear."
Cindy "Weren't there two other avatars on the trip?"
Max "Yes, but we never saw them."
Jake "Never decanted their avatars, they're probably still in tanks in the bio-lab."
Max great sadness in his voice "Oh hell."
Cindy and Jake look over Max's shoulders
Trudy, concerned "What's up?"

Scene 2

Hells Gate, bio lab.
Stan, the two Techs, Ralf, Janice, Trudy and Jake in the exopack look on as Max, Cindy, Bill, Hegner and Steve the cleaner who isn't, all look at the two avatar bodies. Full of holes, and subjected to Human air, they're not in good shape.
Max looks up to Ralf and Janice, and shakes his head sadly.
Outcast "Don't be too quick to right them off."
Hegner "They're not savable."
Outcast "What, ultimately, is the issue."
Max "Brain stem death, they've pretty much bled out."
Outcast "Brain stem death. In an avatar?"
Max brightens, looks Outcast in the eye "Your right, damn it, this is worth a shot."
Cindy, Hegner and Bill look at each other for a moment, then suddenly rush out, max follows and calls out.
Max "Get as much blood out of the pump and pipes as you can. Then get them to the Dragon."
Ralf and Janice exchange glances, for just a fraction of a moment don't move.
Then unhitch the pipes from the pumps and squeeze as much of the blood out and down into the avatars as possible.
With this done, Jake takes Ralf's avatar, Ralf, Janice and Trudy take Janice's, to the door of the C21.
Outcast We have things to do here, meet you back at Base.
Ralf's avatar is on the floor inside the C21, and as they are laying Janice's next to it, Hegner, Bill, Cindy and Max join them. Each is laden with as much loot from the med bay as they could carry. They pair off, and immediately dive into surgery on the two avatars, Ralf and Janice assisting each on their own. Bullets dug out and dropped into kidney bowls. Wounds glued shut and butterfly sutured.
Ralf out loud while assisting "This ain't gonna be pretty."
Janice to Ralf while assisting "I can live with a few scars."
Max gestures to the job in hand "Can we?"

Cut to Hell's Gate watching the C21 lift off and depart.
Camera pans round we see Stan and the two techs walking quickly towards the main maintenance bay. Outcast stands on his own, still watching the C21 flying towards the pandoran humans base, Camera pans looking up past him to the top of the hell's gate building behind him. behind it is the unmistakable silhouette of an Ikran and rider.
Camera pan continues round showing close up the stair into the distance and the fast receding aircraft, and now the Camera stops, looking past Outcast at the end of the building.
After a very brief moment later Mo'at walks around the end of the building. She is carrying an endopack.
Outcast dose not shift his gaze "Kxalti Mo'at"
Mo'at, in english "You knew it was me."
Outcast turns to look at her "I knew you where curious. What exactly did you hope to find out."
Mo'at "I'm not sure, but I will know when I see it."
Outcast makes for the airlock "I will show you what I can, but you may be disappointed."
Mo'at looks at him for several moments.
Outcast breaks the moment "This way."
Outcast walks to the airlock very closely followed by Mo'at, he enters, holding the door for her, as the door closes behind her Mo'at puts on her face mask. The air starts to change
Outcast "Is your door shut"
Moat turns to the door.
Cut to show the door, which is obviously closed, then cut back to showing them both, Mo'at turns back, Outcast is now human.
Mo'at "Why do you not want me to see you change?"
Air change is complete, light by inner door goes green.
Outcast "I'm shy?"

Cut to a long high corridor, one wall is stained, clearly an outside wall once, before an expansion phase of the complex swallowed it. Mo'at and Outcast exit another corridor that is at 90º to this one, and opposite the only door. They walk up to the door.
Mo'at places a hand on the old wall "I remember them building this."
Outcast "They never come down here now, it's said to be haunted."
Outcast opens the door with his tag, the screen still say's the door is closed, they enter, Mo'at has to stoop.
Mo'at "I do not understand their fear of ghosts. The spirits of the ancestors will not harm them."
The door closes behind them it is dark and the only illumination comes from the inside door security panel.
Outcast "Humans are not always rational, about many things. Including death."
Mo'at sadly, "So I have witnessed."
Outcast switches on his flash light.
The two of them make their along the corridor, after a short distance they come to a side turning with a sheer drop. Outcast shines the flashlight down the hole, marks on the wall show where stairs had once been.
Outcast takes out a hank of cord, and ties it to a pipe stump a short distance from the stairs, and hand over hand down.
Mo'at walks to the edge puts her hands out in front of her, palms facing out, and falls forward. As she nears horizontal she presses her hands against the walls to stop herself, swings her legs down, then drops the last four feet or so.
Mo'at can stand upright in the stair well, but it is clear that she will need to stoop even lower down here than in the corridor above. Out cast gives her a moment to compose herself them leads on further.
Outcast "So, what was here before this?"
Mo'at "The first base was those metal shacks, before that temporary inflatable domes, before that, a beautiful forest clearing. I became taronyu in that clearing."
Outcast gives her a puzzled look.
Mo'at "First kill."
They come to the door fo the mens room, with 'Beware of the Thanator' written on it. Outcast pushes open the door and enters, and walks past the two cubicles, to within 6 feet of the end wall, and looks at Mo'at as she squats next to him. He touches the device on his wrist, a section of the wall becomes translucent revealing a much enlarged space inside, still with piles of assorted artifacts, but they're no longer neat, and the two more or less identical canisters. Floating six inches above a large table in the centre, is Hegners avatar.
He steps in followed, slightly hesitantly, by Mo'at. The increased height means she can stand upright once more.
Outcast tips the more stained looking one gently with his foot, its lights flashing away on the top. "This one is me."
Outcast tips the more melted looking one gently with his foot, there are no lights on the top. "This is the outcast you met as a child. He died when his life support failed, not long after the last battle, but not before he'd hidden his illicit stash."
Mo'at "The songs tell that he was the best hunter. In times of great hunger, he was able to find fat and healthy animals when everyone else found it hard to find anything to hunt."
Outcast "Which tells me he had suspended animation storage somewhere."
Mo'at gives him a puzzled look.
Outcast "It would have been caught in a time of plenty, and kept hidden for later. It's completely against the rules, we go to observe, by interfering, you change what you are trying to learn, corrupting it and your own research."
Mo'at looks down at the two canisters, side by side "Neither of you were capable of living by your own rules."
Outcast "Truth is, we live among you, as one of you, side by side with you, for hundreds of years. We know you, we feel your pain, your loss, your despair. And when it comes to it, when we should dispassionately record the slow and unpleasant deaths of our research specimens, none of my people can." pause "In some way's it's a failing." deep sigh "And though they all have the potential, it's one not all humans seem to share."
Outcast squats down and takes out the home made box of tricks, and the small view screen and a couple of cables.
Moat spends the time looking over Hegners avatar. "In some way's, they look so real."
Outcast climbs on the table, and hooks up the cables into the unit in the roof.
Outcast "In many ways they are real, more so than mine. They're real flesh and blood, not just for show. Mostly Na'vi, with just enough Human to make the psyonic link work."
There is a long silence which Mo'at breaks.
Mo'at "Humans are so much more advanced than us, they can travel to the stars. While we ..... " she breaks off , a tear wells in Mo'at's eye " ..... What chance do we stand?"
Outcast stops what he is doing and looks her strait in the eye. "Lets take a good look at our three species. Our technology is far more advanced than the humans, and yes the theirs is more advanced than yours. But at what cost? Earth is a pitiful and dying mess, barely capable of sustaining any life. Our planet is is just a lifeless chunk rock, and there's just four of my people left. Now look at pandora, a pristine verdant world, full of life, and hope. The humans are desperate, jealous and dying."pause "What chance do you stand? I cannot answer that, I cannot tell. I will stand and fight, but I could make more of a difference if I had his weapons."
Outcast nods toward the canister of his dead predecessor.
Mo'at "I do not understand."
Outcast "Before pandora, he was posted to a world full of feuding and waring tribes. They developed very advanced personal weapons, but never achieved manned flight. I don't think they liked heights."
Mo'at "Then why did he come here?"
Outcast "They destroyed their home world, made a really good job of it too. He was floating in molten magma for a week, before being rescued."
Outcast finishes up, then jumps down to the floor.
Taps on the view screen a few times. There is a quiet 'pip' sound and a hiss of static.
Outcast raises his voice and to thin air "Hey there, hows my favorite hacker?"
A flirty female vioce, from thin air "So much better for hearing your voice. How's my favorite male?" giggles
Outcast "I have a job for you."
Female voice "Ow, you're no fun today."
Outcast "You'll like this one."
Female voice "I'm listening."
Outcast "Can you hack the technical library onboard the quarantined mining platform?"
Female voice "Easy. What would you like to find out?"
Outcast "How to build a long range shuttle with just an assembler."
Female voice, suddenly not so flirty now "You don't want much!" long pause, continues with a tone of disbelief "You're, you're not serious."
Outcast "Yep."
Long silence.
Female voice, with a tone of shock and disbelief "I'll get back to you in a few day's, mean time I'd get copying that assembler if I where you, I wish you a whole lot of luck."
There is another quiet 'pip' sound and a hiss of static ends.
Outcast gives Mo'at a 'see, I told you' kind of look.

Scene 2a

Spoiler

Pandoran humans base, main aircraft chamber.
Stan and construction crew chief standing by the end wall of the main aircraft chamber, looking into the mouth of a newly cut chamber.
Stan "That'll do nicely. Just needs the main doors and an airlock into the main complex and it's perfect."
Chief slightly sarcastically "Do you want the doors gold plated?"
Stan gives him a look "No. Thank you. I know you guys worked round the clock to get this dug so soon, and we are grateful, really, we are."
Chief "I'll tell the lads they can park up the rock cutters."
He walks away. Stan enters the rough hewn cavern, working lights illuminate the fresh walls and the uneven, debris strewn floor. On the back wall someone has painted 'Area 51' in yellow spray paint. Stan walks up to it and looks thoughtful.
Camera moves round to look over Stan's shoulder at it.
Outcast taps him on the shoulder, which makes Stan jump slightly.
Camera moves round to show the chamber is now finished. A smooth floor, with not a speck of dirt on it. Main doors installed. In the background, we see someone enter the chamber using the new airlock. Near it is Jake's stretched Link machine, on a pallet, with a big pile of other gear on a second pallet.
Outcast "Still not sure about calling it 'Area 51'."
Stan "I can live with it, everyone else seems to think it's hysterically funny." pause "Did your friend come up trumps?"
Outcast "She sure did."
Stan smiles, "Right, let's get this show on the road."

I had planned this scene to be far longer, with more dialogue, but I wasn't happy, whatever way I played it, however this emerged from the fog of it.
But it is rather short.


Scene 3

Earth, Pasha's tank.
Pasha is huddled in a corner, looking down at her drawn up knees, her tail tucked round, her ears flat to the sides of her head. Beside her, teylu breakfast, untouched.
We hear a door open, Pasha's ears are the only part of her that reacts, camera moves round to see Bethany enter the room on the other side of the glass.
Bethany "Hey, what's up?"
Pasha doesn't look up.
Pasha, sounding depressed "Seen the news?"
Bethany "No? What did I miss?"
Pasha waves the tiny looking remote at the view screen casually, presses the play button.
The frozen TV news man comes to life.

"In a shocking turn of events, Pandoran native tribes have once more massacred human workers at the only recently reopened Hell's Gate. Before the vicious attack, unobtainium production had been uneventful, and relations between the two species appeared to be improving. But in scenes not witnessed since the vietnam war, personnel had to battle their way to the roof tops before being safely rescued. In a significant turn of events, ring leader and human traitor 'Jake Sully' was captured, along with the female native he is thought to cohabit with. They are to be brought back to Earth to stand trial. The two face numerous counts of crimes against humanity, for the devastation the interrupted mining has caused. In other news. A new "

The presenter is frozen once more, as Pasha waves the remote at the view screen again.
Pasha slowly lifts her head, her reddened eyes and tear stained cheeks show that she has been crying, hard.
Pasha, the words catch in her throat as she speaks "I ..... " she falters, she tries to compose herself " ..... I don't know where to begin with that."

Our one is the average "large-unit" high street shop. I don't know the average sizes of shops in the US (presumably that's where you live), so I can't really give you any comparisons.

Pandoran Human base, main aircraft chamber.
Ty (the only RDA trooper to stay behind in avatar2), Trudy and Jake are standing in front of most of the other original 62 stay behind humans.
The three are looking at them as if they are raw cadets on a parade ground, they are looking back at them as if they are nuts.
Camera looks from behind the crowd, over their heads at the three, who are facing them. As the speeches progress, the camera makes one single slow tracking shot around behind the three, too look past them at the crowd. Camera finishes back where it started, looking over the heads of the crowd, at the three.
Jake "We are Na'vi's last best hope of salvation. We, who came from Earth to Pandora. We, who now stand shoulder to shoulder to defend Pandora from the destruction that Earth now sends. We all must fight, or we all must fall. Your avatar is strong, fit, lithe and agile, perfectly evolved for life on this world. I know how hard it is to be human, when you can jump in a link machine and be that perfect specimen, but I need you to be doubly perfect. When it comes to it, you may well need to fight to the death, then fight to the death again," pause for effect "both fights need to count." short pause "That way we are double the fighting force. We have all neglected our human bodies, but I must ask every one of you here, that you turn yours into the samsayu your avatar already is. There will be physical exercise, target practice, field stripping of weapons and much else besides. There will be sweat, tears, pain and blood and there will be a whole lot of cursing. Long before the end is in sight, you will no doubt hate me with a passion, and that's just fine. But remember, that we do this, and we fight the coming war, not out of hate," pause "but out of humanity." pause for this to sink in "Ty."
Ty "Ladies and gentlemen, I am not a man of fine words, so I say only this. I can promise you only hardship, if at any point you think you can't do it, then I have only one word for you." pause "Tough." pause "Life is tough. Life here is tough, life on Earth is too, and getting tougher by the day. The fighting will be tough, physically and psychologically. The people you will be fighting will be professional soldiers, mostly with extensive combat experience, they're tough too, tough as old boot. Eywa expects every living thing on this world to fight to the last." pause "So do I." pauses for effect "Trudy."
Trudy "We are looking for volunteers to train as pilots, this will be as well as your other training, and yes as well as everything else. It will not be easy out there, do not think of this as a soft option. It won't be. There will be theory as well as actual flying. And when you master the flying there will be combat and dog fights, theory as well as practice. If you think you have what it takes, see me later."

Cut to a holding area, with rough cut rock walls, inside are earthling troopers from the recent battle, those left behind by the last shuttle, and those who stood in front of the firing squad, many still in bandages and dressings.
The cells are large, and spacious, but with little in the way of furniture.
Black guy who was the second person to stand in front of the firing squad calls out "I want to talk to whoever's in charge."
Max walks down the corridor and stands in front of the glass security door.
Black guy "You in charge here?"
Max "No."
Black guy "Well just who the hell is?"
Max, "No one, we all just pull together and get on with it."
Black guy is taken aback "Well we want to know why we are being held prisoner here, we risked our lives for you."
Max "You're not, we just haven't finished your new accommodation yet."
Black guy "Then why are we locked in?"
Max "You aren't."
Black guy tries the door, it doesn't open. "So, we're not locked in?"
Max hits the door near security panel, with the side of his fist, the door swings open, inwards.
Max "Why would we lock you in?" then with the subtlest hint of sarcasm "In case you hadn't noticed," sarcasm disappears "we owe you our lives. And we're sorry this is the best we can manage till the extension is finished, the construction crew are on it, flat out." pause "We, we wondered why we didn't see any of you at breakfast."
Black guy, now quietly "What about the others? The ones left behind by the last shuttle, they didn't choose this?"
Max "We see no need to treat them any differently, they were ditched by the RDA as soon as they where inconvenient. What ever happened to 'No one gets left behind' ?"
Black guy "Your telling me we all have free run of the place?"
Max "Well, pretty much, just keep out of the kitchens or face Anton's wroth. And if you go out side the compound, log where you are going on the screen by the main air lock, and when you expect to be back, and take a radio, just in case. Oh and Stan gets a bit funny about visitors in the new chamber they're calling 'Area 51' now, so I'd give that a miss as well."
Black guy "Just like that?"
Max "Just like that. Shall I warn Anton he has thirty two hungry customers headed his way?"
Black guy "Um, yes, please."
The cell starts to empty as people shuffle slowly out.
Max holds his hand out to shake the black guy's hand "Max."
Black guy shakes hands with Max.
Black guy "Martin."
Max "Thank you for saving my life Martin."
Black guy now known to be called Martin "It's Lewis you should thank." Martin sighs, looks down at the floor "I, I wouldn't have had the guts to walk out there if he hadn't gone first. He deserves a frickin medal."
Max "And you could have left him out there, to get shot with the rest of us."
Max walks over to the console in the centre of the foyer, presses a couple of buttons.
Anton's face appears on the view screen.
Anton "Oui?"
Max "Thirty two hungry honored guests heading your way."

Umm, the bookshop i have about half an hours drive from me is about the size of a large school gymnasium, and thats just the first floor. Its three floors.
