In one apartment where I lived, the manager advised the residents that people would be coming around to retrofit something. I happened to walk into my apartment when this was going on and got some strange vibes from the two people there. When they were done, I left. When I came back late that evening I discovered my electric Fender guitar was gone, along with my acoustic. It turns out they had broken the dowel I used to jam my ground level windows and entered that way, eventually leaving with the guitars. I reported this to the management but nothing was done and I had no renter's insurance at the time so I was out about $800 worth of guitars.
As a single female living in a ground-level apartment, I decided it was time to relocate and make sure I was living in a more inaccessible apartment.
