Your wonderful friend, Le'eylan has started the project of translating the entire Lion King movie into Na'vi.  I will attempt to take this project one step further by actually making the movie version.

So, what I need from you wonderful people, are your voices.  If you are interested in playing a part, PM me for your sample lines.  I will hold a quick aduition (we can figure out times together) but as long as you can speak clearly and well there shouldn't be a problem.

Also Note: Cast is subject to change.  When the translation is finished and serious measures toward recording an post-production are taken, auditions will be required from everyone!

Thank you for your time.  If you are not able to participate, I hope that you will at least benefit from the finished product.

(Disclaimer: I am not the best at translating.  The only other translating work I have done was on the Midsummer Knight's Dream project and even that wasn't a lot.  Also, I was focused on rhyming and flow so my grammar and syntax might be off.  I do appreciate critique and correction, but please don't yell at me.  Also, this is in no way contradicting Le'Eylan because I can guarentee she is far better then i when it comes to speaking/translating/understanding/writing Na'vi.)

Yes it will.

If you are itnerested, I found a compleate instrumental version of the movie on you tube that I have downloaded.  That is what i will be putting the voice overs to.

Oh...well I don't want you to have any more work then you want to have.  You can continue to translate the way you have been and just finis the script.  We can work on the songs at the end.

Eyamsiyu

I'm willing to try and voice myself as something.  IDK who yet... hmm... maybe sing (if you don't mind an octave lower in pitch...)?

I know now from yesterday that Maweyatan has a voice changer that makes him sound like Darth Vader, who we all know was voiced by James Earl Jones, the same guy who did Mufasa.  Maybe edit the output, and it could work. ;)

Neat! Dibs on Timon... or Pumbaa... I can't pick :P Oh but I have to see if I can find a good mic too, the one on my laptop might not be enough.

You can sing lower if you need to, or you can just have a deeper part.

We can definately work with that, I think it'd be neat.

You can have either one you want.  Unfortunately, I do not have an intense amount of audo manipulation (I have some) so I will not be able to get rid of background noise or anything like that so the better mics we can all get the easier it will be and better the movie will sound.

As a general question to all of you, do you have skype or teamspeak?

Eyamsiyu

I have both.  I use TS normally for just Ngaynume, but considering the options to have "hotkeys" with TS, I would use that.

I much prefer teamspeak as well so that's good.  Do you want to get on and do some readings or would you rather wait?

Eyamsiyu

Well, as I myself have some work to do, it will have to be later...

Your profile says you are approx. GMT -7.  So you'll be here later on tonight, yes?

Actually I have to leave also so I wouldn't be able to get on now either.  I'm not sure if I'll be on tonight, it depends on the time.  I have some cooking to do then a huge group of us are going trick-or-treating :D  I'll try though

Kayrìlien

I've got both Skype and TS, though time is in short supply. It'd be really cool if we could work out some sort of schedule for this more than a few days in advance...otherwise I might not be able to contribute anything.

Kayrìlien

Tsufätu Ayioangä

That's fine.  I've got about three weeeks left in my season and after that I'll have A LOT more time to actually contribute.

So I have another question for you all who are interested in participating:

Do we all want to get together and record whole scenes at once or do each character seperate that I can edit together?

Eyamsiyu

The way that I can imagine this is the same way that a band would make a record: take each person's INDIVIDUAL recording and put it together.  Problem with this is that, in the musician's case, they have a time keeper that they work with to make sure everyone's timing is right.  We can't so that as well for this... more or less.

Let me iron out how to do this plan, and I'll make another post.  When that post is made, I'll have thought out how to do this if we said our parts separately, then meshed them together.

so how do we get a part??? do we try out or what? i want to join? sorry, that wasn't suppose to be a question.... i want to join.

hrh :)  Is there any one in particular you would be itnerested in being?

Heads up, Scar and Mufasa are very fought over right now but any of the others are still fairly open.

I'd say that depends on what you think is more important. If we're all reading together it's easier to get the right feel into the conversations and it'd sound less rehearsed. On the other hand, it might be easier to work on the right pronunciation if we can take our time and redo everything.

Oh and I'll watch the movie again to see which character I'd have an easier time imitating.
