Alyara Arati

Quote from: Ateyo Te Syaksyuk on October 05, 2012, 09:48:03 PM

Skxe lu txa', pay lu paynga', ulte sngel fkeytok.
;D ;D ;D ;D
I need to commit this one to memory!  You can be certain it will show up somewhere in my ongoing saga!
Drop me a line, Ma Alyara!

For Ateyo, I need to say: EVERYBODY LOVES A CLOWN (FOOLISH PERSON)

how's about:

Frapo yawne yaymaka po.

Nìprrte'.  My pleasure. ;D

The structure for "to love" is Xur/ru lu yawne Y, which translates literally as Y is beloved to/by X.
So therefore you need to say: Frapor(u) yawne lu yaymaka tute.  (In whatever word order.) ;)
Learn how to see.  Realize that everything connects to everything else.

Today's new proverb:

Skxe lu txa', pay lu paynga', ulte sngel len.

Maybe len should be fkeytok; I'm open to that. ;)

Right ma Tirea (and correct ^^). If it's ok, I'll put it on my Na'vi proverbs blog.

It inspires me:

Fraporu lu yawne Märinlent.
Everyone loves Marineland. ;D

What you wrote is: We language correctly can speak less without word.
IMHO we do not speak language, but speak with help of language, so better should be:

Awnga tsun pivlltxe fa lìfy'a fa aylì'u nìnän. But I'm not sure if two "fa" is correct...

IMHO better:
Awnga tsun sivar lì'fyati fa aylì'u nìnän. We can use language with less words.

QuoteMefori ultxati mefohu new sliveyku sngelit.
Ke tslam kaw'it.... What do you trying to write? Two patientives in one sentence will not be correct (as one of them is on the place of subject), and slu +<eyk> + <iv> = sleykivu (correct infix positions)

What about

Ayoeng tsun sivar aylì'ut nìnän fte pivlltxe nìyawr ((lì'fyafa)).
We Can use words less in order to speak correctly ((via the language)).

Vawmataw

Translating "(Even) with less vocabulary, we can also speak correctly the language" would make righter the proverb.

Seems like quite good choice. Small variation:

Ayoeng tsun pivlltxe nìyawr keng krra sar aylì'ut nìnän.
We can speak correctly even when using less words.

For Ateyo, I need to say: EVERYBODY LOVES A CLOWN (FOOLISH PERSON)

Frapo yawne yaymaka po.

This so good that I don't care if it is idiomatic. It needs to exist  ;)
But I'll take it just a bit further....

Skxe lu txa', pay lu paynga', ulte fkeytok sngel ta txìm.

or perhaps

Skxe lu txa', pay lu paynga', ulte fkeytok txìm alu sngel.

I am not so sure in this case if fkeytok is indeed the right word here. In the most correct Na'vi sense, it might be the most appropriate word. But if you say something exists vs something happens is a big change in meaning. exists is very passive while happens is very active. The meaning of the 'Rrtan proverb in ìnglsi has an active meaning--  when it gots to come out, it comes out  :) If it was meant in the passive meaning, it implies one can easily work around the 'excrement piles'. Instead, it seems we end up in the middle of them. So although fkeytok might be the most correct from a Na'vi perspectie, I like len a lot more. Thus

Skxe lu txa', pay lu paynga', ulte len sngel ta txìm.

We definitely need a word for 'feces', both a descriptive word, and a slang word!  :)

Not that many people on here use twitter. You now have to repeat stuff on here for those non-users.
