Alas, I'm not a very good photographer and for some stupid reason I didn't take any pictures at the BBQ or the clan meal and so now I'm really kicking myself.   I forgot to initially switch my camera back from the no-flash/interior settings the exhibit required so a lot of my Blue Lounge pics came out blurry.  Oh well!  I've got them uploaded and they can be found here.

I had a really good time at the meetup!  The BBQ at Keyl's house was a lot of fun, as were all the activities on Saturday.  The panel was awesome!  I didn't do too much on Sunday... walked back to the Peace Garden and shared my morning pastry with some very cheeky sparrows then walked down to the Pike Place Market and to the Olympic Sculpture Park. So I mostly just walked around. It was very peaceful and relaxing, and the weather was fantastic.

Returning to the heat and humidity of Central Illinois was a bit of a bummer. My drive back from Chicago went well although it was past midnight by the time I walked in my door, so it made for a very long day.  Then it was back to work and now the meetup just seems like a really good dream.  Smiley  But it was fun while it lasted and I'm so glad I was able to come.

Thanks so much to Keyl and his family for opening up their house to a bunch of strangers; it was a really nice icebreaker.  Thanks to Karyu Pawl for showing up and being so accessible.  Thanks to Prrton for his awesome organizing skills.  Thanks to Txonä and Zefanaya and everyone else that helped put this together.   And finally, thanks to everybody who came and made this such an excellent weekend.   It was so wonderful meeting all of you!

Eh, I did have the link somewhat buried in my text.  Hìtxoa!  I uploaded them to my PicasaWeb account.

You're not kidding.  I feel I'm always playing catch up even though I'm 5 to 8 hours ahead!  Grin

@ Txonä - I've seen you video block - excellent.  Hey and putting posters on the ceiling - you know what, I kinda like it!  You lot being together must have been a great way to 'cool' down from the meet up.  Txantsan!

Must have been hard for those who had to go home alone...until they got on line again.  We maybe separated by many miles, but we are not far away from each other really.

Lisa -

Saw the pics.  They came out better than mine.  My stupid camera is not made for not using a flash.  I really need a new camera before next year.  It won't happen, but it would be nice.  Maybe I'll bring the real camera next year instead of the digital.  That would help.  Good film can make quite a difference when you're taking pictures.

I'm going to PM you.  I need to ask you something.

Looks like I missed out on a neat event. I have kinda been away awhile. I guess that's why I call myself Ní'awtu... I only live like 20 minutes from the EMP and I have yet to go to the Avatar exhibit. I remember reading about it in the paper a long time ago and I got all excited and planned on going as soon as it opened, but I did not want to go alone and all the people I know frown upon my love of Pandora.  Huh  I will have to drive out there and see it for myself sometime soon

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that! There was actually a meet up in June on opening day, but it wasn't 'led' by this forum. It was led by Tree of Souls, tho a few people from here (including myself) were there. Slä txopu rä'ä si for we are currently planning another meet up of this forum, ToS, and a few others for next year! Our tentative dates are July 19-23 with a camping trip to precede that. I hope you can come with us next year Smiley

I am glad to hear there will be one next year. Its still far out but I would like to go. Meeting some other Avatar people might be fun. I might even wear my RDA costume to the EMP if you guys go there again, I am pretty sure the exhibit will still be around at that point. Not sure on the costume bit though...  Embarrassed

Oh yes, the exhibit will be there, that's why we're meeting in Seattle again lol. It's scheduled to be there till September 3, 2012. And that wonderful that you're thinking about cosplay! Let me assure you that you won't be alone Smiley The thread for cosplay discussion is here. Also our new meet up discussion board for 2012 is here. Hope to see you in Seattle Smiley
