I travel in certain circles, and this is what I have found. Already on the fringe of life, some of it can be REALLY out there.

The thing I notice about people that criticize avatar is that they pretty much have most of their facts wrong.

Here is one from the vatican: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/01/12/vatican-slams-avatar-prom_n_419949.html

That is the expected response from the Vatican, AKA the Olo' eltu ketse'änga ("Clan of the Unseeing Mind", if I got that right) because Avatar could be a threat to their influence.

I just wonder what took them so long?

I don't let it bother me... I have a positive reflection of it. I didn't see the trailer or any bits until I saw it in the theater and I think that really helped me by not being polluted by commercials or reviewers. Most reviewers are not worth their salt and have more fun by bashing a film or it's staff because it's easier than seeing the forest for the trees.

I think that, while a religious perspective is relevant for critiquing a film like this.

Followers of Hinduism would have the most valid reason to take offence to the use of "AVATAR" as a character archetype in a heroic action movie.

To balance things out, there should be a movie made in India where Jesus and Lincoln comes back to life as a Zombie hunter Werewolf hunter dynamic duo. SEE LINK

Bollywood? They probably already have. In an infinity of movies (which they are approaching with breathtaking speed), it is inevitable.  ;)

Well, wrong, not in that they completely steer a one-eighty and just genuinely dislike everything about it, but more that they pick one thing that pokes them one way too hard and, on that, they elaborate. And that one about the pagan worship made me laugh and seek other accommidations from a website I was starting to like, sort of.

I think his distaste for pagan warship should meet my appreciation for the "pagan" (Tawtute) kunsìp.

I don't think Na'vi even qualify as pagan, pagans worship animals and such but the Na'vi worship the connection that they have to everything and the balance of life.

I was about to read this, I am sure, fine review, but as it was loading and I thought to myself, "Didn't the Pope (skxawng'eyktan) say that the world should embrace a more 'green' ideology?" Hypocrites.

"Pagan" from Latin paganus, is anything other than the Christian canon. Think Native Americans - they were "pagan." You're thinking of European Wicca et al. when you think of Pagan. It's the hip and now version of the concept. Pagan, tomorrow, could be the Piraha of Brazil...

Hahahahahaha I love it!  (I am going to burn in the Christian hell for saying that, too)...  ;)

So that means religions like Judaism and Islam are considered pagan by the Skxawng'eyktan?

I stand corrected, although I believe they share the common concept of a literal "hell" as a place that you go to when you die. That is, if you don't rigidly follow their dogma. Personally I believe that "hell" is really only a coping mechanism that we create in our minds that allows us to place our life experiences in proper perspective.
