I was trying out the jMemorize thing to try and learn vocabulary, but quickly found that I wasn't learning much because there weren't any indication of whether the English translation was an adjective, verb, noun, or what.
So I went through the whole list and compared it with Taronyu's latest dictionary update 6.603, Jan 18th.

I added the new words with categories and changed the English definitions (card Flipsides) of many cards to better match Taronyu's dictionary (hence less ambiguous). There were also some typos and words that we know aren't words now.

The list should be a lot more informative now, and hopefully other people can use it too :)

This is awesome! Keep this up please! I had just started doing this myself but then decided to search the forum one last time. Guess I hadn't been looking in the right place!!

Thanks for updating them. I know they needed it. Linking this to the projects database.

Does this also have all the known words?

Everything up to the version number of Taronyu's dictionary I've mentioned. Except for all the Pandora-specific flora and fauna. I find that of very limited interest if you're going to use Na'vi in the real world. Personally they kept irritating me when I was using the lists, so I took them out.

Yeah, I've been skipping all that stuff too. It really seems to serve no purpose. Though it's cool knowing "Ikran" and "Palulukan"! ;D

Unless you've changed something I'm sorry to say that this was "wasted" effort.
I have more descriptive references on some words, especially for all the pronouns. I don't have derived words that we're not sure of, I don't have affixes.

And the file I'm making is for use with the JMemorize program, which requires a special format as well as categories.
Try loading that raw dictionary file into JMemorize and you'll see what I mean.

I'm not using JMemorize although I'm interested in offering that kind of format.

When I try to open the list with jmemorize a message saying: an error occured while loading file. and then:

Where can I find the most up to date jmemorize list? I love this program.

Probably, this will work

Kaltxì, I tried this one too and it doesn't work either. From reading the debug information it might either be something do with running this on vista, or problems with java? I don't really know much about computers so I'm not sure.

I think it's a bug in the program. Don't worry; we're working on a learning program as part of LearnNavi.org :)

Well. I can say that this works fine here (jMemorize 1.3.0 + Java 1.6 on Linux) so hard to tell problem. But had to make sure that UTF-8 was chosen when importing.

Edit: Also works in XP with same Java and jMemorize.
