Aysänumvi leNa'vi Ultxaro (Na'vi lessons at the meetup)
« on: January 16, 2012, 02:14:26 pm »
Kaltxì ma frapo! Pängkxo teri aysänumvi leNa'vi ko!

So, it's still unsure if Dr. Frommer is going to be at this meet up or not, but we are hoping. We are going to see if he will teach a class if he does come. Anyway, we'd still like to have Na'vi classes at the meet up so I am starting this thread for student and teacher sign ups. The hope is to have classes at 2 different levels like Na'vi 101 and 201 or something. We are not exactly sure yet which day we will have these classes but I'm thinking Sunday afternoon would be the best time. Soooo please fill out the following form if interested:

Name: Txonä Rolyu
Student or teacher? Teacher
Students: Na'vi proficiency level:
Teachers: Preferred level to teach: 101

A super fast and easy signup form is HERE. --Tirea Aean

I will keep a running list of signees. Teachers, please message me if you'll need something for teaching so I can talk with the planning team about it and see if we can get something arranged. I hope to see a lot of students and teachers! Maybe we could even have Na'vi 101, 201, and 301! Provided of course that we have adequate space at the hotel ;)

Ma Txona, what an excellent idea!

I am very interested in being involved.  As an intermediate, I would be interested in helping teach a basic course, or being a student in a more advanced course. I am also interested in helping out with, or participating in other language-related things like readings of poetry and prose, reading and writing contests, games based on Na'vi, etc. etc.

I see learning and using the Na'vi language as one of a number of different 'tracks' that can take place at an Avatar fanmeet. Other tracks could be things like cosplay, nature exploration, arts and crafts, etc.

Txantsan! We'll see how many teachers we get and if we get a lot then you could be a student in an advanced class, and if not then you could help me or the 201 teacher.

OH! Once I have teachers for all levels, we'll need to collaborate to figure out what each one of us will teach :)

There is plenty of time to work out a strategy. And I am sure others will be interested in helping, as well.

Phonetics is more of a 101 thing.  I'll be happy there.

Txantsan, ma Cyanrachel I have seen you here and there throughout the forums. I think this should be a lot of fun, and sharing in learning is fun when you have a lot of likeminded folks around.

Now that we have some words for various forms of humor, a Na'vi joke telling contest might be a fun, linguistically oriented activity!
