Vawmataw's entry
« on: December 31, 2014, 07:15:14 pm »
Oet yune

Ayi'enit zamunge
Fte reykivol fa tirea
Eo sanhì sì Eywa
Ulte rivol vaykrr srer tsawke.

Vitrautraleo heyn oe.
Krra srer atan txonä,
Pam hum ftu kxa oeyä.

Aysanhìl oet yune
Tsengio nìfya'o a fnu.
Eywal oet yune,
Tìng mikyun lefpoma 'upxareru
Sì sngumluke a vitraru.
Tìme'em syamaw
Ayatokirina'ru
A srew oehu.

Krra zayene hivum kifkeyftu,
Oe neiew sivalew Eywahu.

Listen to me

I bring the stringed instruments
To make sing with the spirit
In front of the stars and Eywa
And sing until the sun appears.

I sit in front of the Tree of Souls.
When the light of the night appears,
Sound comes from my mouth.

The stars listen to me
Over the place quietly.
Eywa listens to me,
Listens to the peaceful message
And the worriless soul.
The harmony called
The seeds of the great tree
Which dance with me.

When I will have to leave this world,
I want to go with Eywa.

Seykxel sì nitram ma Vawmataw!

You decided to write about the cultural aspects of Na’vi – I thought that was very interesting. It also showed the use of certain vocabulary that we normally don’t use that often in our daily conversations on the forum. The use of specific words for instruments and concepts indigenous to Pandora, plus the poetic language (e.g. reykol, atokirina’, left-branching …) made this one clearly a favorite among the jurors. ;)

Seykxel sì nitram, ma Vawmataw!
I hoped Alyara Arati will win again, but it was clear to me that you'll stand on victory rostrum. So final result is not so surprising for me.
Congratulation again, and continue!

I don't see any. Just in translation is typo in first line: I bring the stringed instruments
and in last but one: When I will had to leave this world
("Must" as other English modals has irregular form for anything different than present, I think it is called "periphrastic form". Na'vi is simpler in this regard  :))
