irayo ma edmoreira:)

i made a mistake, don't know why i did it, but it is good that you quoted me., so i could see it:)

i wrote 'noun', probably my mind was absent, what i meant to say is 'physical object'. like a car, bow, guitar, child. in serbia, we could say, for instance, 'to me is sickness' (although it is a bit odd, but not incorrect), but not 'to me is wallet'. it is like sickness is my current state, it 'occupies' me it is not really a physical possession.

Hmm, this makes me wonder if this whole dative possession thing is used to form the present perfect progressive tense as well, instead of just another verb infix?

Probably not, but I suppose it MIGHT be possible.

Like to say "I have been studying."

On second thought, I think we'd still need an as-of-yet-unknown verb infix, but it might be used in tandem with the dative possessive wording.

Glad you were entertained. :)

However this thread is a bit old, and the question of the dative usage here has been fully resolved, so locking the thread.
