Alpha Centauri will be NEVER visible in Canada, even in Russia. :'(

This is a southern constellation.

No, Alpha Centauri, the closest star to us, is part of the southern constellation Centaurus. Of the Northern Hemisphere, he is - and even in the summer - to see in regions south of about 29 degrees north latitude. This roughly corresponds to the location of the Canary Islands.

I'm afraid to say that it was another star. :( Even Wikipedia approves what Tìtstewan said above.
Have a skymap is important in order to see the right stars and know what you really observed. ;)

From Germany, only the most northerly star of the centaurs are seen, the spring low over the southern horizon.
Southest point of Germany 47° degrees North latitude
Southest point of Canada 42° degrees North latitude
Krasnodar 45° degrees North latitude
α and β Centauri star, to the feet of the centaur
Toliman = Alpha Centauri

I'll say you a BiG secret - I had skymaps: southern and northern(I found ACA even by northern map(~10 degrees above horizon)). If you don't want, don't believe me.

I waited to see the moon. This effort has been rewarded yesterday. I had a clear sky (a big surprise for me) and I observed the moon and photographied it.

Today, when I saw the moon, I couldn't miss that moment of the moon...

and this duet Jupiter-Moon!

Look at these pics on the post above. :D And then look at this pic of Saturn. I woke up at 2:45 am, so I decided to do astronomy. :o

I got up sometimes to see the constellations, but I didn't miss the 6 o' clock to observe Saturn, successfully.

There's the picture of the Lord of the Rings:

And the original:

Its magnitude: 0.85. Jupiter's magnitude is -1.9 now, but it was -2.52 on December 30th (when I photographied it the first time: -2.51).

I don't believe why I could photography Orion inside my house. Maybe did I say three times Betelgeuse or Orion?  ;D
