Is my pronounciation right?

I'm currently working on a project that means I need to have my pronounciation pretty much perfect so I thought I should ask, is my pronounciation wrong at all in this audio clip?

Sounds great though you kind of slowed down on plltxe. Not really wrong but it doesn't sound very fluid.

You're putting an glottal stop (or maybe just a small pause) between Fìskxawn and gìri but "awng" should be one syllable. Everything else seems correct.

Fayvrrtep fìtsenge lu kxanì
Perhaps you're just trying to enunciate better but you put a glottal stop in fayvrrtep between fay and vrrtep. Everything else is great!

• The ä did go a little a-ish didn't it, I'll have to watch that.
• Thanks about the oeri ta peyä etc. the akewong is very tricky, I really need to practice it.
• Yeah, and I started pausing after every word, it wasn't great. I almost stopped after the ll, I'll have to watch out for that, someone might think it was a different word.
• This clip was before I misguidedly tried to 'correct' all your beautifully pronounced clips so some of these mistakes might crop up. At this stage I'd forgotten about the unreleased last stops which are very annoying.
• If Frommer had spoken slower in lots of his clips, we might not be having this conversation as it would be a lot clearer to us all, I'll try to get it a little more fluid though.
• I hadn't noticed that I'd split the syllables like that. Also, I think I'm doing an ejective p in tsap'alute rather than an unreleased p then a glottal initial syllable.
• I'm not sure why I did that, I'll try to smooth it out.
• Thanks, listening to it again though, in the second one I accidentally slipped a lax u in before the ngati, sometimes I hate being a native English speaker.

One thing though, put a few pauses between the phrases so people have some time to absorb it, I know most of these sentences by heart and I was having trouble keeping up.

I am under the impression that all native English speakers have a little trouble with the ä, though

Really, there are so many examples of it in English though? The main reason I think I'm having trouble with it is that I had been confused about the a (I got the sound confused with a different IPA symbol) and so because I concentrate on my "a"s whilst speaking Na'vi my "ä"s occasionally mutate.

I do the same thing sometimes, I'll see ä and say a or I'll see a and say ä.

Yeah, I think the only problem us native English speakers have with ä is just not being used to seeing it, we obviously have no trouble saying it.

The thing is, we're not used to seeing ì either but that doesn't seem to be so big a problem. Granted it is closer to i than ä is to a but I'm not sure how big a difference that would make.

I think that comes a little more naturally since we're used to i having to very different forms (ee and ihh) so we make sure to mentally check which one it is where as with both a's they sound very similar (ahh and aah) so we don't need that mental check since if you screw up it's a less noticeable screw up.

Just a theory though.

I can do the audio but I don't have a webcam or anything but I'll figure something out with movie maker so it shows what I'm reading.

Well, I think at this point there's very few of us who are perfect with their Na'vi pronunciation so there's no reason to be modest, we're all pretty good at speaking Na'vi we just all have plenty of work to do to get all of our accents perfect.
