My attempt at reciting some of my poems
« on: July 10, 2012, 09:30:07 am »
Well, it has been a loooooong time since I have opened my mouth to actually say some Na'vi :) Perhaps my pronunciation has gone downhill? Maybe it has improved?

Anyway, here are some samples of me reading some selections from my enormous  ;D poetry collection.

It is me, not my mic  ;D I just can't seem to do "rr"'s perfectly. I can manage almost everything on the IPA except the "rr" sound. Weird...perhaps my mouth just can't pronounce it, like Lenin?  ;D

Txantsan fwa stawm tuteol a plltxe nìmun :)

Great to hear somebody speaking again … and I am constantly in awe of your peotry collection ;)

Apart from the rr, I noticed that your stops are often aspirated while they should be unaspirated. Sometimes a misplaced stress but otherwise tìkangkem akosman, ma tsmukan :)

Perhaps because of influence from Chinese, I often accidentally voice my p's into b's if I try to unaspirate them. No problem with Ts, though I sometimes aspirate them too  :)

Fantastic...but you do need to remember that oel is pronounced /wel/. Ayoe is /ay.'we/; oeng is /weng/; and so on...

Actually, that’s a speaker’s choice ;)
If you want to say /'o.el/ instead of /wel/ that’s totally fine.

ayoe is always /aj.'o.e/ except when case endings are attached (see here)

And oeng becomes /weng/ when case endings or ADPs are attached, as far as I know, but I have to admit that I’m not sure there.
