These vids have been very helpful. Irayo :) Keep 'em coming.

I still have trouble with the r sound but hopefully I'll get it right one of these days.
Excellent, I'm glad you found them useful. I'll probably make a new one sometime soon.

I'd be happy to help you if you need it. Pronunciation is my strong point :)

As would I.  I plan on getting a new mic soon :)

What kind of mic are you looking for?
What are other people working on audio guides like this using for mics?
I second what others here are saying about Ftiafpi's voice for this kind of work. It is txantsan!

One with better quality (also so I can incorporate some Na'vi lyrics into a song that I'm making...).  I recently got one that's USB so I don't have to deal with more devices clogging my room :P

THIS WAS GREAT!! It shows me that the time that I spent in Germany, Samoa, ans Hawai'i helped in making the Na'vi sounds. The only problem that I seem to have, is that I have a strong tendency to say the Samoan or Polynesian sound for the "E", which sounds to an "A", and the Island sound for the "I". which sounds like an "E".  I have to either practice a LOT with my just reading Na'vi, even if I don't understand it, to get over my natural Samoan diction for anything that is not English or German. Or convince the "powers that be", that there is an island clan two thousand miles east of the tribes of the Eastern Sea, that rides Dolphins, and has a Samoan accent to their speech.  That was a JOKE folks, DON'T get wound up about it.

I've found that learning a third language, Japanese, I tend to substitute Na'vi pronunciation a lot into it (followed by teasing from my Japanese speaking girlfriend). The best solution I found was to immerse yourself in the language but also to memorize the sounds (not the words) of a phrase. I can pronounce "omedetou" pretty darn well but only because I remember that words pronunciation specifically from a youtube video.

HAH, yeah... I guess I only came in for the bump because I saw this thread being shared in a brand new thread somewhere. Bad me. :S

Glad I've added something useful (which I think voids the necropost stigma?) :3
