Sounds of Na'vi
« on: May 17, 2013, 06:04:52 pm »
I recently recorded audio of all the sounds (not letter names, but what all the letters are supposed to sound like when pronounced) and put them on my Na'vi Lessons Blog.

http://tirea.learnnavi.org/material/sounds.php

I just figured it would be useful and a good idea to post here since this board strangely enough rarely ever sees activity.

Great idea. Pity it wasn't available at time I started to learn.
Note: [ʊ] this sound doesn't work; don't know why...

Txantsan, ma Tirea Aean, +'aw

The alternate /u/ sound does not work for me, either. Firefox 19.0.2 under Fedora 18 Linux.

Ma Tirea, I've modified your mp3 sounds to make them a bit louder (+13.5dB / +16.5 dB)
See attachment :)

Perfect. Assuming they have the same file names, they can just be dropped into place. Tsari irayo :)

They have the same file name. But I took only the .mp3 version, because that program I used doesn't work with .ogg files...

The ogg used to be necessary because Firefox used to not like mp3. Currently, I believe all big name browsers work with html5 mp3 audio. I don't think I need the ogg files anymore anyway.
