Download Spoken Na'vi Words:

Here is spoken Na'vi words with spoken English translations before and after the word. The idea here is to give you something to listen to for use in vocabulary learning and/or pronunciation learning. You can take these MP3 files and put them on a MP3 player or computer (or CD) and listen to them on random at your leisure.

To download the current full spoken Na'vi collection click here: http://www.archive.org/download/NaviWords/SpokenNavi.zip

Also, I've created a Na'vi only version of the words (no English) which can be downloaded here: http://www.archive.org/download/NaviWordsnoEnglish/SpokennavinaviOnly.zip

You can also access individual Na'vi words (with no English) using the following webpage (useful if you want to make a link to just a single word):
http://www.archive.org/details/NaviWordsnoEnglish
(I had to use the code command on the link because for some reason the forum keeps auto correcting it to a different incorrect URL)

Finally, you can download a Na'vi-English Audio Dictionary by Taronyu here: http://content.learnnavi.org/taronyu/NaviDictionarySoundhu.pdf Link broken.

If you notice a spelling or pronunciation error please post here or send me a PM and I will fix it right away.

Thanks to omängum fra'uti for some of the dialog.

Latest version is V5.00

Version information:

V1.23
1: Indicates batch version, each time a large amount of new dialog is added this will go up by 1
2: Indicates either a major revision to one or more existing dialog files or a small batch update (download recommended for proper understanding)
3: Indicates a minor revision to one or more existing dialog files or other details (download not totally necessary for proper understanding)

Omg it's not working for me right now, but when it does you may have struck a goldmine! Subconscious audio learning ftw.

The fkeu recording was broken so i couldn`t unpack it, but everything else works like a charm.

Irayo.
Personally i don`t take the Na`vi as alien because i think i understand them.

When I look on the news and see what horrible things are happening around the world I can`t help but wonder what is the source of them and therefore my own race is becoming more and more alien to me as time passes by.

Does that make any sense?

Thank you so much! :D You have no idea how grateful I am. :)

Oh, I see, when I updated it last night something must have gone wrong with the update, I'll be able to fix it when I get home from work.

idk .. who has the skill or the time for this ..but i just decided today that i want to learn na'vi.. and i think an application that would work on like an iphone would be good.. like someone throw together audio and visual lessons like start off basics and gradually get more complex.. and make it an application.. i know it would help me greatly

I like the idea, but visuals? What do you mean?

There's one in progress using this audio with a flashcard like setup: http://forum.learnnavi.org/index.php?topic=1146.0

It's still in progress and there are a few minor mistakes but overall it's great and is rapidly expanding, an amazingly useful tool for learning vocab and pronunciation simultaneously.

:/ Is it possible to get 1 big file? Instead of 20000 tiny ones?

I assume you mean one big audio file?

Unfortunately, no. I need to keep them separate for a bunch of reasons so it wouldn't be possible for me to combine them.

These mp3 files have been a great help in better understanding that pesky /r/ sound.  Keep up the good work! :)

Is it safe to assume these files are released to the community for use in other projects?  I know these audio files aren't final yet, but I have some ideas spinning around in my head about ways to use them in a more interactive way, and I just wanted to verify that its ok for me to use these files for another project here.

Yes, I have put these files out there under a public domain license, I make no claim to them and they can be used for any purpose with or without my consent (and I believe the same goes for Steven's files). However, as you said, they are subject to change at any time. Also, if you want a specific word that hasn't been made yet just ask.

P.S. I'm uploading the word "ikran" right now, that's probably the best example or the Na'vi /r/ aside from "Nari"

Hey guys, just uploaded a new batch of 20 words, version updated to V2.00
