(Had to do it like this otherwise YT embeds it and the jump to time is lost.)

The end is obviously naviyä hapxì, but I'm not sure about the rest. I think she's trying to say:

Kawkrr! Ke san layu nga naviyä hapxì!

but that's not what I'm hearing. Ideas?

kawkrr! ke slayu nga na'viyä hapxì!

Subtitles say become IIRC so slayu makes more sense to me.

Yup, slayu makes sense, and it also helps to lose that extra syllable. :D

kawkrr! Ke slayu na na'viyä hapxì!

Is what I hear now I've actually listened to it again.

Either she's stuttering the na or else it is actually using na=like so you will never become like one of the people.

That said, it sounds like there's almost an 'u after the ke which doesn't make sense, I'm going to assume it's a sob.

I don't think so. "Like" looks out of place in the Na'vi sentence. I'm pretty certain that it's supposed to be a nga. I mean, if I went after Saldana's pronunciation I'd believe that "never" was *kawkan... :D

The general consensus is Kawkrr ke slayu nga Na'viyä hapxì!, which would literally be "Never not will become you Na'vi's part!", or, more appropriately, "You will never become one of the people!", which, I believe, is exactly what she yells in English immediately afterward.

if you went by her pronunciation it would be closer to "kawken krr slayu na na'viyä hapxì" which makes no sense.  I agree with the others on what it should be...  however there have already been several threads on this one line.  We have a rough transcription of the na'vi lines on the wiki if you just want to know whats being said.

Actually, you're probably right. Most speakers of Western European languages find that word-initial ng quite tricky.

Le'eylan

Why isn't it:

Kawkrr! Ke slayu nga na'viyä hapxi!  ?

I just wondering, because when it's na, instead of nga- I can't find anything telling that it's YOU that never will be a part of the people...

The nga could be implied if she's speaking to you.

That said, the nga seems to make more sense.

Was na Na'viyä hapxì? I could have sworn she said Na'viyä hapxì. I do agree that nga would make more sense, especially since when she screams it in English, she does use the word 'you.'
