Australian Meetup
« on: December 23, 2010, 05:32:38 pm »
I know it would be difficult for some but how about it? We could meet, discuss A destination is to be announced.
So, Australians;

What are your thoughts?

(Humor) Ps. Any non-Australian is welcome, because I know you're dying to meet me. (/Humor)

All details are to be discussed
  • Location
  • Date
  • Time
  • Who is buying all of the drinks/food/Alcohol
  • Who is paying for all of the flights
  • Who is buying Ngawng a present

I don't expect someone to pay for all of the food, beverages and flights. I have a compulsive need to joke.

When would be the key question, as I'd have to apply for annual leave anyway.

Not only when but what we would do? Possibly lesson(s) for the Australian Newbies.
I will also be rather busy with school, so we should purposely try to plan it to occur during the school holidays.

A present? For me? Awwwwww :3

I'm into alcohol oh yes. Not quite old enough to LEGALLY be into it but eh, only another four months till I'm a grown up GASP. Also I speak Na'vi when I've had a few. Party trick??

Wellll before I can share thoughts...what shall this meetup involve? What do fandom meetups in general involve? I've never been to one before. Trolololol.

For location I'm going to be rather selfish and suggest Sydney or Melbourne. OR the Otways. Look it up bro.

Sydney or Melbourne would be ideal because I think that most of the AusNa'vi live in the East Coast. Apparently people from Western Australia are too good for Na'vi.

Where the bloody hell are the Otways?

Oh, and according to the "Official Guide to Meetups", protocol suggests that we should all crash at Ngawng's place.
As for suggestions to what to do,

Apparently there's this movie called "Avatar"? It is visually stunning, or something. I think it's directed by the guy who did Titanic? I don't know, I'm not sure.

Okay, I just searched the Otways.
My vote is here.
Here are images;
This one below is HEAVILY enhanced. Still beautiful, though.

Otway(s) relative to major locations.

Otways relative to people.

Ps. Don't ask why I included Taronyu in the map.

My house is too small and s*** for everyone to crash here lol....but I have like 2 inflatable matresses and a tent xD.

Ma Yayo, your vote is the Otways? If so I reckon we would hafta caravan park. It's pretty far from my house, I live quite close to the Melbourne CBD.

*thinking aloud*

 ;DI'd prefer the tent at your house. If there aren't any suitable shelters or houses near Otways, maybe we should reconsider. How far is it from Melbourne and Sydney.

Ps. My flight will probably be free as a result of the frequent flyer points I have'acquired' from this holiday I'm currently on.

Pss. Would any Kiwi's be coming?

Update;

The currently selected location are the Otways. Depending on the length of the meetup (days, preferebly two), you will have to establish accomodation for yourselves. I doubt that they'd allow camping in a National Park but in the slight possibility that they might, we could camp there.

Now, the date;
Please post your availabilty here! Tell your Aus/NZ friends about this so Ngawng and I won't be the only ones organising.

I want to come, although that won't happen unless I manage to find enough money for plane tickets...

Haha; my plane flight would most probably be free because of the Frequent Flyer  Points I've accumialated as a result of my holiday.

The location is in my state, but it is still woop woop.

What dates are the term 1 holidays? And how many people are up for it so far?

Three, possibly four. It is still young. As for Term One holidays; I'd have to check when I go back to school.

A Signature Bar is now available for this event. In an attempt to advertise, please add it to your signature.

So; we have things pretty much sorted out. Just a date is the only thing we need.
