And ,at the moment, I'm most afraid of StarWars because they can beat Avatar as most profitable film and i hope it will not happend.

Force Awakens just might beat Avatar as most profitable film ever, but then Avatar 2 might beat Force Awakens too.

I think, even if Cameron do his work on 80% it will still be a good movie.

The discussion about possibilites of dethroning Avatar is a bit off-topic here so i will hide it in spoiler and we should continue in otherthread.

So i find some reason why it should not dethroning of Avatar happend.

1. I don't know if you register that but the hype of StarWars is so very high that it is incredible. I mean last few months (since July or August) , i see everywhere the advertising on StarWars.

2. The StarWars VII/7 is developed by Disney and they have done few things.
   A. It is Disney, huge  corporation, they can ruin it just for money.
   B. Disney said that Expanded Universe of StarWars, comics, games, everything which is not canon for Disney expect the film and some other Disney-source are lie.

3. It is seventh movie, it is new for its Universe because there wasn't any plan for more movies. So, there is possible that it will be bad/will not fit in the Universe

4. I dont see any reason to watch the StarWars: Force awaken more than one time in cinema. 

If you have any issues with my reason or you want to correct me in some ways, feel free to do it.

Also, i would recomend to move this discusion to the another thread.

And so the pendulum swings, Avatar, and then Star Wars, and back--but Avatar 4 will have the final word and if the trend goes this way then it will be the biggest film in the history of history itself!  Muahuahahahahahaha!  Um, yeah, it'll be good, right?

IMHO for us as spectators is absolutely uninteresting whether movie will or won't be most profitable - that's night mare for producents. For me is important, that Avatar 2, 3, 4, .... to be good movie and pleasant to me. If it makes biggest profit - ok. But if Starwars makes more - no problem for me.

But if I don't like Avatar 2-4 and it makes more profit than Starwars, it's real crash.

It can, but doesn't  have to be true. We are waiting for Avatar 2 - 4. Too early to think about Avatar 5

IMO Cameron need not less than 2 years from start filming to release. But he didn't start filming yet.
He making scripts now and probably he started making 3D models for flora/fauna/environment, but nothing more. So winter 2017/2018 wasn't real deadline. Summer 2018 can be only if Cameron starts in summer 2016.

The 3D modeling is an interesting point, as I understand it, a big advantage of the sequel was that a great many of these could simply be reused from the making of the first movie, but the world has moved on since 2009, and Cameron is not a man to accept second best or take short cuts.
My guess is that the extant models would be fine for back of shot and distance placements, but I expect a huge reworking/modernizing of a great many of them.
Filming technology has moved forward too, I expect a deal of all new tech in The Void for the sequels.
I can't wait!

Indeed Cameron, Veta or Lightstorm have backup of all 3D models, but these models was old, made for AV1. Few places, peoples and creatures can be reused without extra work. But I'm sure that Cameron invent many new, that requires a lot of work.

Back to topic, Cameron said that he started work. Apart from scripts, he might start 3D design process and preparing equipment for filming. These peoples are gentle, we may not found any info about that process.
On the other hand we have film stars, like Ney (Zoe), who use twitter everyday. If filming or training starts, we will know about it. No info from that peoples was very sad.

AFAIR, i read an interview with Ney/Zoe and she said that she already read script of AV 2 and also spoil something.

Also, Cameron said somewhere that he want to have the film in 3D, 4K and in 60fps so it will be technological revolution again.




Ps: One fact, you cannot use same effects in 60fps film as 24fps film because it will look ugly so they have to invent new effects for Avatar sequels.
