Given my fanfic, maybe I shouldn't post my views on Avatar II.
Pasha, an Avatar story, my most recent fanfic, Avatar related, now complete.

The Dragon Affair my last fanfic, non Avatar related.

Here's some news about the both sequels, Avatar 2 and 3

Cameron to team with China on Avatar 2 and 3?
http://rt.com/art-and-culture/news/targets-chinese-market-plans-136/

One of the most commercially successful directors in Hollywood, James Cameron the creator of Titanic is eyeing movie and TV co-productions in China. The director shared his plans at Beijing Film Festival.
Cameron's movies have been highly successful in China, and he believes it could soon become a similar size market as the United States. Cameron's Avatar became a box office sensation in 2010, while his Titanic 3D is still the leading Chinese rentals.
The Canadian director plans to strengthen his relationship with China having scheduled a series of meetings with local producers and filmmakers. "I assumed we'd do well here," Cameron told The Hollywood Reporter.
Fascinated with how the Chinese welcomed 3D technology and how excited they are about his films he told The Hollywood Reporter he plans to discuss Avatar 2 and 3 as Chinese co-productions.
However China might put serious obstacles in front of the forward-looking director, with government censorship and piracy among them.
Cameron's Titanic 3D for example was stripped of nude scenes in Chinese rental version. The State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television cut out scenes where Kate Winslet poses naked for Di Caprio's character.

"I'm here to explore the idea of a co-production, find out what restrictions need to be met, find out what content guidelines need to be met, and find out what the economic incentives are, and I will weigh them all out," Cameron told Reuters.

And here is also something else, JC wants everyone to adopt 5D

Nice, I like what you said :) Unfortunately tho, Ferngully came before Avatar, it came out in like the late 80's/early 90's. I like how you dare everyone to make a film like Avatar.

well in all honesty, they just couldnt. people say the plot was predictable, but they're just nit-picking. they dont realise what an amazing job JC did - think about it. all those little creative details, like what the link-machines look like, or the computers or amp-suits, or the way the aynantang and other six-legged creatures move. add that to the big stuff, like the floating mountains, the science behind the idea of an exomoon, the feasability of cryo. then add that to the plot details, like Jake and Neytiri's little arguments, or the witty one-liners, or the way it all comes together in the end. when you think about it like this, you realise what a massive job JC undertook, and mastered. its impressive, it really is.

and to make three more - well, all i can say is go JC!

This. It is simple to say "pak!", but it is hard to do something what "wou!" If plot is predictable, you can go to cinema just a few times and then no anymore, as many movie can have similar story. If you don't like it - just do not see it, other people can like it - but such critique can discourage them. I'm not big cinema visitor, so I can't make comparison with other movies to which Avatar was compared, but I believe I'd enjoy it even if I know these. Visual side of the movie was just great and if you see it more and more, you can always find new great detail.
And if people want to see it many times (some many ten times), it weighs something...

James Cameron will be starting to film the three sequels in September 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

This is so cool, I am so looking foward to when they coming out at the cinema :D

http://www.hindustantimes.com/Entertainment/Hollywood/Avatar-2-3-and-4-to-start-filming-in-September/Article1-879371.aspx

The shooting of Avatar 2, 3 and 4 will begin this September -- that was the revelation made by Sigourney Weaver to entertainment website Showbiz411.com, confirming that James Cameron intended to produce a four-part saga. While promoting TV series Political Animals, Sigourney Weaver
put an end to the endless speculation about the future of Avatar. The actress will indeed be involved in the new films despite the death of her character, Grace Augustine, in the first installment. Weaver also confirmed rumors that James Cameron had decided to extend the futuristic eco-fable to four parts, after having originally intended to create a trilogy.
The first sequel to Avatar, the biggest box office success in the history of cinema with takings of $2.78 billion, is not scheduled to arrive in theaters until the end of 2014, or even the following year, taking into account the long post-production process needed to bring to life the graphic effects of the flora and fauna of planet Pandora as well as its blue inhabitants, the Navi.

Cha-ching!

Well, everyone wins. Cameron gets to go out with a bang (he's stated that this will be his last major motion picture series). Fox gets a couple hundred metric tons of money. And us fans get 4 films to fawn over.
