  • The next Avatar films need a compelling antagonist to challenge the Na'vi.
  • Tom Sully could be resurrected as a Recombinant and become a new villain in future Avatar movies.
  • Tom's jealousy and resentment towards Jake for stealing his opportunity could lead to a sinister plot against his brother.

Pretty much unlikely because of several reasons:
  • There are antagonists already in like Quaritch, Ardmore, Varang (and Scoresby if he survived).
  • There are less than zero information about any brain scans of Tom. Also, it would be interesting to explain how Tom got an brain scan on Earth while the Quaritch's group got their brains scanned on Pandora, or in other way asked, why in A2 is told that the brain scans happened on Pandora and not on Earth?
  • How Tom could become "jealious" when even in the first movie it was told that a random guy killed him for some dollars he had. Needless to say, that Jake himself said the he (his brother) was the sciencist who wanted to be shot into the stars. And actually it was not Jakes idea to take over Tom's avatar body, it was the RDA one because the avatar body was created already obviously, and why a company should wast money if there was an opportunity to let "re-use" that avatar by his twin brother...
  • Tom played a very short role for a story to introduce a marine with an handicap. Tom got dropped rather fast, so I personally don't see a good point why Tom can return.
