That's awesome, thanks so much for sharing the article. ;D I still wonder how the oceans will fit into the plot line, but I'm sure JC knows what he's doing.

Sweet ;D thanks for sharing. Any idea what they're gonna do about the lack of light down there?

So it has now certainly been confirmed that the oceans are involved in Avatar 2.

Question is, how does this tie into the fact that Jake and Neytiri will be back?

Do you think that the Eastern Sea Ikran Tribes will have a more prominent role in this movie as well?

Ooh, I sure hope so! But it seems to me like they were crazy about their ayikran and would be up in the air more than in the water, but who knows, maybe they do spend a lot of time underwater too.

This makes me wonder if the Na'vi have a larger lung capacity than humans, allowing  them to stay under water much longer...... Because I am having a really hard time figuring out how the sea would be a prominent part of the movie and still have Jake and Neytiri as the main characters.

I've been wondering the same thing, too, ma Ekirä—unless JC intends this material for "establishing shots" showing you what's in Pandora's oceans, without necessarily having the Na'vi able to go there...

There is in all likelihood, and underwater "mermaid like" version of the Na'vi to meet.

Great: first Cameron copies Pocahontas and now he's in the hunt to copy The Little Mermaid... ;)

JUST KIDDING!

I'm fairly certain that he has something in mind that won't be a copy of anything... and if it is, I'll beat him with a shoe.

So many people have this idea that Disney created the story of Pocahontas or The Little Mermaid.

Hmmm..... Avatar meets The Abyss. Could be very interesting.

They filmed much of The Abyss in the containment vessel of an unfinished nuclear reactor. At the time, it was the most complex underwater film ever produced. I bet, knowing how innovative JC tends to be, that Avatar 2 will somehow beat that.
