Not really.  If you read the article, she talks about having broken ribs, wrist, etc.  They just can't afford to allow that to happen to the high priced/high profile actors in most of the scenes in a movie.  In addition, if that were to happen to a key actress in the movie, it could really set them back and cost millions of dollars in wasted time.  It's always a bad thing when a main actor/actress gets hurt during filming, unless you're lucky enough to have it happen right at the end when you're pretty much done.  A stunt person is, no offense intended, somewhat expendable.

As far as injuries go thought, no one is lucky

Her name is Alicia Vela-Bailey.

She's actually a stunt woman.  Did the stunts for Zoe, at least, I believe.

Edit - First random link I found...

Irayo for the info.

As sad as it is,that's exactly true. Injurying the main actor/actress is far more important to the film/poducer/company,the stant people are more "expandable", and they are aware of this. There are not too many main actors/actress that make all of the stunts themselves.

Well, then we may see her in some form or another in Avatar 2. Maybe as a Clan Leader, and maybe occasionally as Neytiri!

I'd prefer to see her as that Clan Leader ! :D

I would also like to see her as the clan leader.  Avatar doesn't seem to be short on strong female characters, but giving a little more info/time to a female clan leader would be a nice touch for the sequel.

It is by no means short of dominant female characters for sure. I would prefer to see her back as the Eastern Sea ikran tribe's clan leader, perhaps interacting with the Omatikaya. Although, I am curious to see how Neytiri takes over the duty of tsahik from her mother, because it appeared to me that Jake's avatar was wearing the clothing of a eyktan, so that would make Neytiri tsahik.

It'll be interesting for sure.

Who knows, maybe she transfers her duties over to Neytiri, perhaps she dies in events between the two movies, guess we'll have to wait and see.

I really hope she doesn't randomly die. I wouldn't mind having Neytiri as Tsahik and have Mo'at as an adviser so to speak.

Well, this is a bit OT, but since I'm actually writing narrative that specifically deals with this, I'll give my take.

If Jake and Neytiri are now Olo'eyktan and Tsahik, Mo'at is probably still involved in guiding them.  Neytiri is still quite young and, while she was being groomed as the next Tsahik, would most likely welcome the guidance.  But growing up with her people and all that, I think she'd be fine, even though she took over as Tsahik much younger than intended.

Jake, on the other hand, has spent about 3 months with the Omatikaya, was just an ex Marine grunt, and is now Olo'eyktan.  Unless Eywa imparted a large amount of knowledge/experience to him (which is possible, who knows), Jake now has what must seem to be an overwhelming responsibility.  I would imagine both Mo'at and Neytiri would still be helping him play catch up, so to speak.

Again, all that's assuming Jake and Neytiri are actually the new leaders.  And it's just my guess.  But to me it makes sense that, in the case of an early clan leader switch, the elder(s) may act as guides.

It appeared to me that Jake's avatar was wearing the regalia of a eyktan, so I'm guessing he will be taking over as such.

If I'm not mistaken it's written in the Avatar wiki that Jake is now the leader.
I don't see anything wrong with Mo'at guiding Neytiri as a Tsahik for the begining, sounds reasonable.

Kätsyín te Zotxekay Tsyal’itan

Yeah, Jake's takeover as olo'eyktan is on Avatar's wiki and in the '07 script in a part that was cut from the movie just before release.

Yeah, I can see Neytiri recieving guidance from Mo'at before Neytiri takes over officially as tsahik.

Will see in the EE some kind of a festival of Jake being nominated to olo'eyktan , or was t entirely cut for the movie and we just need to assume that it is so.

Kätsyín te Zotxekay Tsyal’itan

In the script that was released there is in fact a scene that deals with that.

Jake and Neytiri return to the Tree of Souls to find Mo'at with a dying Tsu'tey. Tsu'tey has lost his queue in the battle, thanks to Cpl. Lyle Wainfleet. As his last act as olo'eyktan, Tsu'tey hands Jake that power. And because he is nearly dead, he orders Jake to kill him out of mercy.

This scene was actually cut by Cameron just before it was released.

Irayo.
Very emotional scene. I still wonder if in the EE we'll have any kind of scene concerning Jake's and Neytiri's rules inside the clan, guess we'll have to wait.
