Oddly enough, this is a good thing. Means he has more time to get things in order and produce a quality sequel. ...or enough rope to hang himself.

I don't mind as much as I could - as hard as it is for us to wait, it can take all the time it needs to be perfect ;D

Or 9202 years from now.  ;D

Mr. Cameron has done this before, with smaller budgets. The only objective indicator of how well he did is the Ticket Gross. Subjectively, I loved the sequel T2.

The Terminator (1984) - Budget: $6.4M (estimated) - Gross: $80.4M (Worldwide) - Profit over 10 x budget

Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) - Budget: $94M (estimated) - Gross: $517M (Worldwide) - Profit nearly 5x budget, gross over 5x predecessor

Sequel time roughly six or seven years.

Avatar (2009) - Budget: $237M (estimated) - Gross:   $2,780M (Worldwide) - Profit over 10 x budget

Avatar 2: The humans strike back (2016) - Budget: $150M to $250M - Gross: $500M ??? to $1,000M ???  to $13,900M LOL

All said and done... It is best not to keep expectations higher than possibility. Otherwise you are setting yourself up for unnecessary disappointment.

I think the increase from Terminator to T2 will repeat itself :), especially if JC can pioneer glasses-free 3D like he did 3D with the original.

Is glasses-free 3D possible in cinemas?

This better be good, James!
Well now I get another two years to practice my Na'vi. I hope to speak it fluent when the sequels show up in the cinemas.
In the unwieldy situation of knowing way more grammar than vocab

Don't get your hopes up too high, expectations have a way of easily exceeding reality.
