It's not like the original left any plot hooks.

This has got to be for pre-Avatar plot scenes. NO WAY is he coming back as post-Avatar. That would be pretty cruddy. Either way I'm gonna go see every sequel. But still. :\

EDIT:
LOL! One of the most evil guy will be in the next Avatar? Ketsukspaw! :o
Ma Tìtstewan, ketsukspaw is a wou! word. Go put that under new word suggestions. Do not pass , do not collect any unobtanium!
I think, we could use that word, ketsukspaw, as a wou! word especially in cases like this. And I will not collect unobtanium, that stuff is like jeans and alcohol-free beer - it has no importance for a real Na'vi! ;)

yes, since ketsuk- is productive, you totally can say ketsukspaw. It's actually one of the most used ketsuk- words I can think of, personally. I kinda say it all the time ;D

And ketsukspaw indeed would it be if what I fear will happen happens.

Honestly I don't really care how they do it. I just want to see some new footage of all my favorite characters!! Quaritch included. DEFINITELY hoping to see more Selfridge (he was a well written character particularly if you count the deleted scenes) and Tsu'tey!

I mean, that the RDA on the Earth would have some samples of him. (They should collect some medical stuff, before they leaf the Earth) They could clone him on Earth and they comes back to Pandora with a cloned Quaritch.

Or maybe Quaritch had a twin too?
...but he don't have one, and why Eywa should "absorb" his soul? ???

-----
I'd wondering if Trudy and Tsu'tey will be back too. I think, it would be (in a way) possible for Trudy, but how in Eywas names would that possible for Tsu'tey? *looking at the extended version*

Here are my 1000-1 predictions for how Quaritch will be resurrected:

The Spirit Guide: The cut dream hunt scene showed that the Navi have and engage in rituals involving hallucinogenic substances to try to form some level of precognition or as a magic the gathering player might say scry  ;D

So I doubt it would be a big jump that Jake or some other character might undergo such a ritual and via Eywa have several "guides", Grace Augustine as the "good" guide and Quaritch as the "devil/evil" guide.

Eywa's Battle AI: Eywa's ability to "control" creatures with no apparent direct link might indicate Eywa has a WIFI connection of sorts, what if that connection could be utilized to save the memories and personalities of not only all the fallen Na'vi but all humans who perished in the battle (including Quaritch). That would be a formidable database of current military technology and tactics that Eywa could leverage in the next human incursion? Moreover, Quartich could be Eywa's representation for the militarized knowledge/personality.

Either way we are a few years out, and I reckon its a bit early to raise the pitchforks, I have full trust and faith in Mr. Cameron to come up with a twist that totally floors us.

What would be even worse is if somehow they 'reincarnated' Quaritch by making him a driver of a vacated avatar!

Maybe in the very end, Quaritch (now as a 'passed-through Na'vi) will turn good guy, since the folks back at earth will have figured out they can make unobtanium using a particle accelerator, and the bottom will drop out of the market. He will help the Na'vi battle awful space aliens in a nasty fight (mean Pandoran bush!).

As a writer of fanfic I have had to contemplate all this stuff, most of it has wound up in the 'fic's. I sort of feel that it kinda precludes me from this debate.

I am going to wait till AFTER the movie has been out for a while, and then read up on it. If Quaritch is in it, Ateyo and I have already decided, we won't WASTE our money. It will be like all the other blockbusters, the people got greedy for the bucks, and screwed up the sequels BIG TIME. We will watch and watch again and again and again...... and LOVE everything about AVATAR, but as far as we will be concerned, there never WERE any continuing stories.
Niri Tawä

My fanfic really that bad?  :o :(

if anyone can make something like this work, it will be James Cameron.

Your FanFic is NOT bad, I have read it.  It is just to see his face in the next one after seeing him die in the last one would scramble my brain cells enough, to where I could NOT enjoy the movie. And that goes for Grace as well.

For Grace, she could appears as a person in Eywa due Jake talks with her by AyVitraya Ramunong.
For Quaritch, he could appears as a person in dreams or so.

There are definitely legitimate options for using the actors w/o making the story completely lame. I highly doubt either Quaritch or Grace will be able to have any impact on the actual events that take place during the story (Grace has a bit of leeway in this area but not much). I suspect they'll mostly be used for flashback type scenes.

I have to agree with Niri Te.  A good mortal villain should stay dead.  Unless Eywa decided to reincarnate him into a Palulukan.  Pretty much an even swap...

Grace, on the other hand, has options.  The least of which, is she could reach out to Jake through Eywa.  Although the Tree of Voices was destroyed, there's nothing to say she couldn't communicate elsewhere.  Her character has possibilities.  However any hope of her reintegrating with her Avatar, brings up the question of how the Avatar was maintained during her "absence".

I suspect there is a means of 'maintaining' inactive avatars.

I think the best thing we could do is to wait for the next film and watching it. We will see how Cameron will surpise us. :)
