Well, it appears we will indeed be getting a second Avatar... AND A THIRD!

Cameron made clear that the next film won't be a prequel, recounting previous backstory, but will begin after the events of the initial movie. "We'll follow Jake and Neytiri," he confirmed.

In fact, Cameron intends to follow the couple for another two films. "I have a trilogy-scaled arc of story right now, but I haven't really put any serious work into writing a script," he said.

Well, that confirms it, Na'vi is not going to die. If we do get a second and third Avatar, Paul will HAVE to develop the language further. Let's try to persuade him to make this site his official blog for ideas and such, so we can see it at work and he can call upon our input when he gets stuck on trying to find that perfect sound/word.

i think i read somewhere before that frommer is actually bound by contract to develop the language to a solid level, regardless of whether there will be sequels or not.

i am looking forward for more na'vi and more pandora, although i must say that i am a bit skeptic about the quality of the movies. i mean, we have to admit that avatar is a well-rounded movie wich has made it's point and finished it's story arc. also, one of the key elements of the movie was the development of the relationship of jake and neytiri.

Although you spelled 'trilogy' incorrectly, I am still incredibly grateful for this information. I knew he was planning to do a trilogy if Avatar was successful, but confirmation plus the affirmation that the plot will follow Jake and Neytiri is really wonderful.

Just please, I don't want to wait another 12 years for a Cameron film. I reckon if he hasn't even written a script, a release for another Avatar movie will only be until, say, 2012-13?

However, this is great that it solidifies the future of Na'vi.

i think it will be a 18 month or something like that until the next one comes out because he already has the software and the models for the main characters already.
So all they need to do it write the script and act it, (that's all)
