See that's the problem. After watching Matrix again I was reminded about how it really makes no sense to go to the trouble of killing off a main villain and then bring him back. Honestly, I would prefer them to avoid the resurrection and use selfridge or existing characters. He's deader than dead. He choked and was shot by several arrows. I doubt they can bring him back, this isn't enterprise where they can magically resurrect people.

No, but it's the future.

I'm just being the devil's advocate.  I'm on your side when it comes to him coming back or not: I don't want him to.

We'll just let it pan out and see where things go.

QuoteQuaritch is dead, it makes no sense to bring him back. I would prefer Avatar to evolve story wise and not become another cheesy extended movies series.

Yeah, I have to agree...no bringing anyone back.  If writers want to keep a character around then they need to keep that character alive.  Resurrection has been done so poorly so many ways that it's just turned into a huge cliche and an almost instant turnoff for a large number of viewers/readers.

I think Avatar 2 ( and 3 if there comes one ( if havent looked for it yet ) is going to be a tiny bit less good then Avatar ( the first part ) because the first part still reminds you of how great and beautiful everything was on Pandora and you all saw it for first time ( maybe 3 times, like me  :P )

I don't think Cameron has the intention of making prequels, or extending an already-made movie (excluding extended-version dvds).  I never said that I would LIKE Quaritch to come back, but there's the possibility.

Besides, we are talking about James Cameron: he would find a way to make it work.
Maybe he has a son ( which i doubt ) thats also in the army....Any comments on that?

Edit: My earliest gues of the release of Avatar 2 is 5 à 6 years.

It was never mentioned in the movie that Quaritch was married (or it was, and I missed it).  I would bet that he wouldn't be, as he is a 'life-long" military man.

However, since it was never mentioned, it is equally possible that he was and had a child.  Who knows?

Long-short: If any form of Quaritch comes back, it would be his son, and that is unlikely.

I really didn't care much Quaritch.  I just...I dunno, I thought he was a bit inconsistent.  There were some scenes I thought he was good in, and others where he seemed to fall flat.  A lot seemed to have liked him, though?

Honestly I'd be disappointed if they didn't being him back, If the RDA chose him to lead the troops on Pandora he's got to be the best of the best, there is no way in hell they would simply let it go if they still had a sample of DNA and machines where they can grow bodies, possibly even something where they stored memories, for all we know Quaritch was manufactured to be badass in the first place rather than born.

Avatar is one of the best films of all time, I think most of us would agree on that... however... What i want to see is more character development of Jake and Neytiri and the Na'vi, of everything!

James Cameron managed to give us some insane empathy with Jake, but we still don't know a lot about him or his brother, what his motivations in life were before he lost the use of his legs and so on. If Avatar Sequels build on what Avatar lacked slightly then it WILL be the best film of all time.

No to Quaritch returning.

I would love to see maybe the actor in a new role, but honestly NO more resurrection.

Yea, but once that actor has played a certain character, it kinda kills it for him to return as another character. At least to me.

Maybe they could look to the different fan fics on the web for inspiration.

There is another option with DNA - cloning - resurrection. That's will be called Avatar 2: Attack of the Clowns.

Avatar 2: Attack of the Ayskxawng.

See that shadow? It's the last one you're gonna see.

I'd like to see Jake have a dream where he re-lives the accident when he lost the use of his legs. Then he wakes up all freaked out and pats at his legs to make sure they're okay. They are, but he's on some battlefield as his human self, perhaps a desert. He freaks again only to wake up for real this time on Pandora next to Neytiri, but he pats his legs again just in case. I'd like to see if they start out showing how his accident happened, so the movie would start with humans as the majority of characters. That way when he wakes up for real on Pandora it would be a stark contrast between human and Na'vi and everybody watching would be like "Wow, I did NOT expect that!" You know, show them something they see every day first and then hit them with all the colours of Pandora. It'd be kind of like a slap in the face but awesome. And personally I don't care if it's in 3D or not. I went to see Avatar my second time in 2D and I liked it better because I wasn't as overwhelmed by the "realness" and I could actually pay attention to what was happening, and the COLOURS! OMG! It was like a hit of acid (not that I do acid, but that's how I imagine it would be).

get off of the sony acid.

Might be good. I think that having it in 2d and IMAX would be good but that real d 3d stuff isn't all that great if you have the chance to see it in IMAX instead.

I personally would like to see how he was injured, but as for a dream in a dream in a dream, it's tiresome to watch sometimes. Other than that. OOOOH the colors.

I would like a total shift, imagine a few of RDA bosses talking. They know they had to evacuate, Selfridge has reported that it was all Quaritch fault and all the other who left agrees, simple to blame it on the dead one and not to far from the truth.
Smith: So the send a new mining team to the other side of the planet, arm them better and make sure not to make the natives angry, should work I always wanted a underground mine and not a quarry anyway because of the toxic atmosphere.
Anderson: I know you sell boring rigs and it can be hard to go back. It was not the natives who beat us, the whole planet is a organic supercomputer and then Quaritch attacked a tree who was one of the nodes he got overrun by all the animals in the area who attacked at once.
It might attack even if we land on the other side of the planet.
Jones: I got this from some of the scientists who was allowed to stay; "pictures of Jake during the soul transfer process and they burry his human body." The supercomputer are able to do total brain transfer something we are unable to do, all experiments has failed miserable.
Think if we had a copy, you upload your memory, then you die we clone a body same as an Avatar but human, then we transfer the person into the clone, giving us immortality,  Anderson you are getting old, think of having a 18 year old body. The marked value would also be vast, how much is immortality worth.
Anderson: I agree but this is a little to fantastic to sell to the stockholders, hunting the fountain of youth.
Jones: I know, but this supercomputer will have other uses, computing naturally one, it also controls the ecosystem on the planet. We all know about the ecological problems on earth because the ecosystem is out of balance. I have read of teraforming plans, main problem is to establish a stabile ecosystem; if we can make this system survive work on earth and control it we will become very rich.
Smith: we will also become very popular, it's a nice bonus and make the politicians easer to handle.
Anderson: might be best if we bought a bioengineering company in silence and rented them a starship, the RDA logo are probably not very popular on Pandora
Jones: excellent idea, official purpose for the expedition is to find out how this system work and how we can use it to heal earth, a separate group study the brain upload and transfer part. They will try to establish them on Hells Gate but will also bring a separate base they can deploy if they need.

I think the whole purpose of the RDA's character in the movie was to be that they are a company bent on making money, with not much concern for much else (Much like Standard Oil, run by John D. Rockefeller in the monopolization days).  Plus, in my opinion, it would not make for a very interesting movie, because the focus is now on the RDA, and let's face it, we ALL want to see more Na'vi in the next film.

I agree totally, this just set the scene for that will happen on Pandora, next scene will be on Pandora.
My plot was to avoid a simple RDA returns with better weapons setting, yes someone will try to take control over Eywa then they think they have figured out how she works.
I believe the scientist left on Pandora also try to figure out Eywa.
