There is an odd lack of memerobilia for a film that has done as well as this one. I realize that merchandising is somewhat anathema to the theme of the story, but I wonder if there isn't something else going on?

I noticed this too. You can hardly find a soundtrack or action figure anywhere. And yet Twilight is covering the planet. ??? It makes me mad, especially when our hot guy is way, WAY less creepy than their hot guy.

Agreed. Took 9 stores to find the soundtrack (ended up getting at Barnes & Noble), and the only place I've seen the action figures so far was...get this...a checkout lane rack at the grocery store. The toy store here doesn't even carry them...

Target doesn't have them, but it has Prince Dastan, which I find really strange, since it wasn't nearly as successful (though it was a darn good movie).

We've never had any merchandise over here or at least none that I have been able to see. Kinda sucks :(

We only have posters because stores carry almost al Twilight merchandise. I do live in the "Twilight state", after all! ::)

At my local Toys 'R Us we have action figures in the Star Wars aisle:]

I haven't looked for the soundtrack but  it's bound to be somewhere.

I'll probably end up ordering stuff of the Internet. Whenever I go in the action figure aisle I pretend I'm looking for a present for my 8 year old cousin. ::)

This summer I saw a  stand of action figures for avatar in a Kmart fairly large actually.

I totally need the Jake guy. I NEED!

I don't really have any interest in buying any of the merch they sell in stores, but I REALLY REALLY REALLY want this. http://www.noblecollection.com/catalog/product.cfm?id=NN8878&catid=86

$59? Sooo unfair. But seriously, Noble sells extremely high quality stuff. And not just AVATAR merch, but also Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Da Vinci code....AND--get this--they don't sell any Twilight stuff!!   ;D

Check it out--they sell Jake, Neytiri's, and other Na'vi knives. http://www.noblecollection.com/catalog/product.cfm?id=NN8880&catid=86
For $95. Ah well, I didn't need one anyway :D

Nìwopxsiyu

I would want any one of those knifes. Those are just completely awesome.
