I, Kyttin Richards, am coming! (Luckily, I'm local, and a Disney-Spouce, so my Pandora attendance is a little flexible.) I also have time to dedicate, if I can be of any assistance to you.

I'll be there, and mom will likely join us for several days as well. Not 100% sure I can make every day, but the vast majority I'll attend.

On the bit about fastpasses, unless you are staying on property, you can't reserve 60 days out. The current information I've seen has us staying off property. Last time we went though Disney was...well very generous so fastpass wasn't a massive concern. The wait time for FoP during the week is usually reasonable and we'll be there between two big holidays, so the parks shouldn't be as crowded. If people have any interest in the new Galaxy's Edge attractions, I'd highly suggest going while we're at the Meetup.

So, as a tentative itinerary, I am thinking:

11/11 Arrivals all day, Avatar showing in hotel meeting room at 8:00pm
11/12 Pandora (any special events are pending Disney) and Animal Kingdom all day
11/13 Hollywood Studios Star Wars Galaxy's Edge all day
11/14 Other Disney parks (Magic Kingdom / EPCOT), or other TBD event?
11/15 Tibet-Butler Nature preserve visit
11/16 Second day at Pandora/DAK all day
11/17 Depart

I will attempt to get some FastPass cards for attendees and see if we can have a morning event to meet a Disney Imagineer like last time (no promises, I will ask). As we did last time at Pandora, all attendees will be responsible for their own transportation. This can be car-pooling with someone that will have a vehicle, Uber, or other.  This is important, since transport is not being officially provided.  If you will have a vehicle that can take passengers, please post here so hookups can be arranged.

Due to the European meetup earlier this year, the interest and attendance forcast for this US event is simply not high enough for some of the perks we have had before.  In times past, the AvatarMeet was organized and scheduled by a number of folks working on the community's behalf on their own time and uncompensated. That level of support has simply not been available this year for the US meetup and I have tried to run with the event as much as I can by myself.  I'm sorry if I have not risen to the level of your expectations.  Please note that I am still trying to add some extra activities as I have time to devote to the event. I will communicate anything I find.    -Mark

Thanks for all of your work so far. I didn't realize that you were doing it all yourself without the support of the past "team" of organizers. Here's hoping that Disney surprises us with something nice.

You can add me and ma muntxate (Atokirina from the old NaviBlue site) to the list of attendees. Although we may need to skip the Star Wars day and go to Universal Studios that day instead (my kids would kill me if they found out I went to the Star Wars park without them!)

Everyone who is actually going to the Pandora days, hop over to classifieds "ikratsyíp from Mo'ara collar tags" thread. Especially if you're planning on adopting/tsaheyl si with one of these lovely darlings while you're there!

Update:  I've been working with Disney and Lightstorm to see what extras we can have for the meet.  Right now we'll have an offical greeting from Disney on the morning of the 12th and some fastpass cards for everyone. Because of the modest size of the group this year, any more will put us into a rather expensive managed event that I don't think we want to get into.  Still, it's Pandora and will be a ton of fun!

I haven't gotten any yay/nay feedback on the proposed schedule I posted here, so if you're attending, take a look and let me know what you think.. -M

Awesome!  The "extracurricular" days are still up in the air, but I think a trip to the nature preserve would be a lot fun. We'll likely have ad hoc lunches and dinners as a group during the week too.  I am intentionally not trying to formalize too much to prevent conflicts of schedules, and overloading me as well.

So Atokirina and I are officially booked for the meetup, hotel and flight wise. We're staying at the meetup hotel, but didn't book the hotel through the group link as our flight home is leaving a day later and the group booking wouldn't let us add an extra day. I thought I'd mention that in case you're keeping track of the hotel bookings. We're also thinking about renting a car for the week. If we do, we'll have room to take 3 others with us. We haven't purchased tickets for Disney yet (just in case they offered a discount or Lightstorm offered some). ;)  Looking forward to finally meeting everyone, although my Na'vi has gotten really rusty over the years (not that I was ever able to grasp the complexities of it to begin with).  Can't wait to be back on Pandora!

Hey Great Spirit!  Glad you got your arrangements made.  Incidentally, although Paul can't make it to this meet, I will be conducting a formal Na'vi class (still pending as to when, exactly) and can do some tutoring for any attendees that want to work on their language skills.

It's all of those verb tenses that mess me up (and the spelling, but you can't hear a spelling mistake)  ;D   My mate has been trying to teach me her native language for years too, but I think my cup is already full. ???

Toruk Makto

It's definitely a challenge.  8)

Can you send me a good link for the verb tenses? I haven't even  *Started* on those!!! I'm still focusing on common phrases around the house and greetings!! :o

Toruk Makto

There is a summary of the verbal infixes in the back of the Na'vi dictionary.

Y'all have probably gathered this is my first AvatarMeet. Ever. Lol! What's the average na'vi fluency at these things?

It varies from quite good, to those just starting out. There is no peer pressure to be an amazing Na'vi speaker. We're all learners! -M.
