Is there a word for 'binary'? Nimune maybe?
It's too close to nìmun.  :-\

Anyway there is no word unfortunately.

Indeed there is no single word which means binary.  But the idea of a binary structure or system can be explained as one which supports only two possible options.

If you mean "base-two number" it's a bit different. Possibly "Number that contains only the numbers one and zero"?

I'm not even sure how to go about explaining counting systems (including octal itself relative to others) that differ from octal in Na'vi O_o.

The word "binary" is etymologically an adjective, from the latin word for "pair", so we would say something like "lemunsna".

would be cool, if le- were freely productive

munsna is a cool related idea though, the noun for "pair".

Glangeil

Hi guys .. I have one question for you .. How can i make a noun from verb seek ? Like seeker ? I just cant figure it out ... In Na vi of course :)

Toliman

Kaltxì ma Glangeil :) Welcome here!

I would say that there is possible use suffix -yu (personalization)
to seek = fwew
seeker = fwewyu

(like as very known word taronyu (hunter) = taron+yu)

"The" - if you mean it like as articles in English, Na'vi has not this.

The closest we have to "the" is to use the prefix fì- (this)

Kaltxi, ayeylan (i hope I've learned enough for that to be correct),
Is there a definitive guide to possessives, such as my, mine, our, etc. I may have overlooked it, but i certainly hope not.
Thanks in advance.

Kaltxì ma Neyva'ky :)  (we use the word ma before the name/title of the person(s) you're talking to)

Welcome to the LearnNa'vi forums :D

these possessive words are achieved by adding the -ä / -yä suffix.

oe (I, me) --> oeyä (my)
nga (you) --> ngeyä (your)
po (she/he) --> peyä (her/his)

and so on. note that there is a vowel shift so that all the pronouns end with ...e-yä

as for mine, yours, hers, etc. this is just the same as saying my one, your one, her one, etc. these would be

pum oeyä (mine, my one)
pum ngeyä (yours, your one)
..., etc.

Hope this helps :)

Mech

...and have in mind that unlike english, these words can move freely before or after the noun, so we can use them as we prefer ('eylan oeyä)
