ma is like the "@" in twitter
Hahah, works for me. I figured it must be something on those lines - but wouldn't have realised you could use it in a sentence at this point. Just got my pronouns and lenition rules learnt... still a long way to go. :D

Cheers tsmukan.

(LOL. Just had to correct my spelling of the first Na'vi word I've tried to use. Great start!)

Yeah, Frommer has said in a few interviews that "ma" is used when you're addressing a person.  So it's Kaltì ma tsmukan instead of Kaltì tsmukan

ma Eywa ngahu, the oeri is unnecessary there but it should be ayngahu if addressing several people.

figured the same (should have used ayngahu instead of merely just ngahu, sorry if it was not clear enough in my post :) ).
I used oeri, because I like to say my brothers instead of merely just brothers :) (so it was a conscious choice ^^)

If you wanted to say my brothers you should use the genitive oeyä not the topical, what you've written is as for me brothers.

yes, I am using as for me as a way of saying: my (they are as brothers for me :)),
so I do not think it is wrong,
but merely just a different way of saying it. :D

an example of the same use in a different context, from the normal wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Na%27vi_language
Oeri ta peyä fahew akewong ontu teya längu.
"My nose is full of his alien smell (ugh!)."

but please do correct me if I am wrong, yet again ;)

I honestly don't know. I assume they're alright. I'm not involved with the pronunciations, only with the file.

Edit: updated my dictionary file to the new host, on this site. Thanks seabass.

Update:

* Added the french versions (not compacted) for the thematic glossaries: translated by Leonopteryx

* Added a compilation of spoken Na'vi words.

I added a link to the Audio Dictionary.

It is also here.

How solid are the pronunciations now?

I'd say the pronunciations we have so far are about 90%-100% correct. We're constantly revising and there are one or two words with moderate errors that aren't fixed right now but overall you can follow these and will be pronouncing the words correctly. Also, keep in mind that the only pronunciation guide we have to go by is the language lab post by Frommer and Frommer's spoken words (we're taking the movie as possibly correct but not a main source since we have found small errors in their pronunciation at times) so it's possible that there are some pronunciation rules that we're not aware of.

I'd forgotten about that phrase, it certainly isn't wrong but seems to carry a different emphasis. In the film when the olo'eyktan says that he is almost asking it as if everyone else's nose should also be full, he's saying "my nose is full of his alien smell".

Using it for brothers almost implies that you're excluding someone who's listening in by saying that they are "your brothers" and not his.

So yeah, not wrong but probably with different conotations.

Another sentence from the same place (my main source of knowledge at the moment ^^):
Oeri tìngayìl txe'lanit tivakuk
Let the truth strike my heart

so I would not say that it is used in order to exclude someone who is listening in, but merely just in order to define my relationship to the persons/or things I am refering to :)

(though i do get your point about the conotation, it might be taken as an offencive reference if used in a certain context(if it is in a heated discussion between 2 Na'Vi for example), because it is very specific in saying my), though i guess it also could be used in an idle conversation, where you want to focus on your relation to the  person or thing, instead of placing the focus on what you might do with for example you spear in a hunting story ^^)

ive been having trouble with the audio portal, ive been trying to use the clips from the pdf . . . . they dont seem to play fully ( some of them ) like some words you dont hear the beginning and others dont seem to play the end correctly, but thats if they play at all. I keep getting bad gateway errors, sometimes i have to click the word anywheres from 5-12 times before it will play . . . . And does " 'ampi " . . . really just sound like "ahm" . . . . its either very unclear, broken at the end or im just not hearing the end fully. Im an audiophile . . . so i have some of the best equipment and audio devices available within a standard persons budget. nothing cheap or chinsy on my pc, ive been running digital HD audio and speakers for quite a few years. And not that garbage consumer xfi crap put out by creative either. Do you have a list of files in a zip format that are higher quality. I thank everyones hard work, effort, imeanse amount of time here, its proving to useful in countless way!! IRAYO ALL!!!

Kaltxì!  I've done a bit of work on the Learn Navi Wiki, adding a Resources page compiling the pointers from this sticky, plus a few other things I've come across.  I hope others find it useful.  And, of course, since it's a wiki, if you can improve it go right ahead!

Eywayä, I added a page to my inflections document, listing English terms used in the trilinear gloss. There may be a better place to put that, though?

Just wanted to note that taronyu's audio dictionary is linking to his old version, the new link should be: http://content.learnnavi.org/taronyu/NaviDictionarySoundhu.pdf
