Hey, so something I've been doing for a while but am trying to do a lot more is writing notes to myself in Na'vi.

What I mean is, for example, if I'm writing a grocery list I do it in Na'vi or if I create a new folder on my PC I make the title in Na'vi. I'm wondering if other people do this? Also, if you don't, you really should. It's a great learning tool and really brings Na'vi into your daily life (you gotta remember words otherwise you might get bottled pay when you wanted wutso). :)

Fìkemìri nga sivi kop srak?

Ftxavanga Txe′lan

No, I've never done it, but in fact I find it's a great idea! It's true that you've got to remember the words in order to click on the right folder or to buy the right food, so it would surely be a very good way to learn on a daily basis! :D

Thanks for the suggestion, ma Ftiafpi :)

I do :) I agree it can really help you learning because only practice makes perfect ;) I also started writing a page a day only in Na'vi. Sometimes I don't have any idea what to write about, but I still try :)

Yes, I do this. For example folder with Na'vi pictures I call Na'viyä ayrel. ;)

I do it all the time!
My google reader contains only folders with Na'vi names :P
My external hard drive has a Na'vi name, and I've got a lot of notes in Na'vi that no one else is allowed to read ::)

And not many would be able to anyway :P

I do this too, and I give my game characters Na'vi names.

Grocery lists seem like they'd be really specific, that it would be hard to say "lentils" or something.  (Actually I'm making a grocery list as we speak.)

So far I just label some things in Na'vi, like my notebooks for different classes.

Did I make an error you just can't stand to let survive?  Please, correct me!  I'll give you candy or something.

Oh yes! All the time whenever I can! Everything on my computer that could change now has a Na'vi name, I take Na'vi notes in school when I can, and I'm keeping a prayer journal in Na'vi. Fwa pamrel si nìNa'vi prrte' leiu oeru nìtxan :) Hahaha you know you've been studying Na'vi too long when...

I most definitely do this... Which is why I love my android, the Na'vi app, and the fact that I can make sticky notes to myself. I often think of random things or phrases. Will make notes to myself after looking it up on my handy Na'vi app. Unfortunately, I go through kicks of doing things like this... Will go two weeks of doing things like this daily. Then suddenly will get busy/pre-occupied with dealing and doing other things in life and will stop doing it for a week. I feel like its causing a lot of back and forth with retention. But It most definitely helps me with my retention. Though it would be higher if I wouldn't forget to do it for a week at a time.

That's a very good idea - I haven't done that but I'll start.  At least when I play openarena (an online 3D FPS game) my player name is "Skxawng"...

There's a whiteboard at my gym that people sometimes scrawl silly things on. I wrote some Na'vi graffiti on it the other day.
Please tell me if you see mistakes in a Na'vi post of mine. It's the only way I'll learn. :P

That's a really good idea on how you could easily practice when your not in front of a book, computer, or another Na'vi speaker.  I will give this a try soon once I pick up more of the grammar and see how it works for me.

This is a timely topic. Earlier today, I found myself using the calendar feature for the first time, in my new Android phone. As I was beginning to enter a calendar event for a satellite uplink tomorrow, it occurred to me to enter at least part of the information in Na`vi. So I did.  As I was doing it, it occurred to me that I should get into the habit of doing this.

But it is not the first time for me, either. I have been doing it sporadically. Perhaps the most unusual use was recording the 'phase colors' of the wiring for a temporary power hookup at our TV station that I had to do twice last October. I recorded the wiring colors in Na`vi. I did this partly because I KNEW I had to get it right the next night. Reverse-phasing the electric service of a TV station is not a good idea, or consistent with a long career.....

I just wrote a whole page of random Na'vi stuff at work today! Writing in Na'vi at work is a great way for me to pass the time when it gets boring. A quarter of my random writing was a testimony about 2010. It's up in the nìNa'vi nì'aw board if anyone wants to take a look :)

My brain is too much swiss cheese from Sleep Apnea, I doubt I'd remember what I wrote without having to look it up.
