Makto ko!

Hi I am new to the Na'vi language and know many words and phrases, but nothing else! So I can't write Na'vi. I was wondering whether anyone had anything helpful to help me learn these, as they seem very confusing  ???! Anything would be great!

Tada! All the words you could ever want (for now).
Also, there's several useful links and documents on the Learn Na'vi site:
http://www.learnnavi.org/downloads/

I'd also highly recommend checking out the the Beginner boards here on the forum. You'll find a lot of information there. feel free to ask any questions, as there's plenty of people who are more than happy to help.

Check around the sub-boards there. Especially here: http://forum.learnnavi.org/syntax-grammar/
here: http://forum.learnnavi.org/prefixes-infixes-and-suffixes/
and here: http://forum.learnnavi.org/vocab-phrases/

In fact, just try to look at as many sticky threads as you can. Some of it can be pretty confusing, so post any questions you have here: http://forum.learnnavi.org/beginners/%28for-beginners%29-faq-%28please-ask-your-questions-here%29/ (Or you can ask me and I'll do my best to answer, but as I'm no linguist you can always PM a moderator) and if you have any sentences you want tested, post them in the appropriate thread in the Vocab/Phrases board.

http://forum.learnnavi.org/beginners/common-mistakes-for-new-na%27vi-learners-to-avoid/ This could also be a potentially good board if you're confused about some stuff, or if you don't want to get yelled at corrected by a mod for improper usage of something or other.

In general I'd stay away from the pocket guide for vocab.

Whilst it is very good for grammar, it's translations aren't always the most accurate and some of the parts of speech it gives are just plain wrong. This is because it isn't updated regularly enough, I'd recommend using Taronyu's dictionary which can be found here, it's updated so regularly I once had to download it three times in one day which can be annoying but does lead to greater reliability.

You can always find the latest copy in the link in Taronyu's signature as well. Lastly, if you spot any errors or have new information, you can tell him in this thread.

Irayo again, I tried the dictionary, but even though it does fill me in on vocab, I am unfortunately still hopelessly confused about grammar and such. If anyone had anything that helps me understand all this liguistic latin, phonetics and grammar and the like, please inform me.

The pocket guide is pretty good on the grammar, beyond the pocket guide, most of it's practice, post some sentences up and we'll try to correct you.  :)

As for linguistic terminology, this document should help, it's the crash course.

Lastly, for phonetics, we don't have many good documents but there is Taronyu's audio dictionary which has a few spoken words. There's also the phonetics page on the main website but that's not a huge help.

If you're a native English speaker then Skxawng's alphabet should help but won't be of much use if you're not.

If there are any specific words you want to hear, I'd be happy to record an audio of me saying them so you can hear them.  :)
