Neyn'ite Te Tsahìk Txeptsyìp'ite

what would you all recommend to be the first step in learning Na'vi? I've skimmed the PDF files on the main page of LearnNa'vi, and I'm unfortunately forgetful of a lot of the things like prefixes, suffixes, etcetera. irayo for any help anyone can offer :]

Take a look at the Ngaynume and Neytiri projects, there are a lot of starters in those project which are all at the same "Na'vi grade".

Emibh, may I ask what the description of Project Ney'tiri is?

Project Neytiri, hmm, I think this thread explains it quite well: http://forum.learnnavi.org/the-neytiri-project/the-neytiri-project-15039/

Kea tìkin! I don't have anything to do at the moment and helping new people is never wrong, is it?

Oh, one little thing: your phrase is good, but mind the ì instead of the i in and (in this phrase I would rather use ulte which means the same).

Kea tìkin!

Kea tìkin means "no need" (for thanks), not "You're welcome!" ;)
The way I learned it, it means: no need, no problem but can also be interpretated as you're welcome...
I believe it is in Na'vi in a Nutshell too.

Emibh, is ulte the way to say and, or is both si and ulte alright and when are they used differently from each other?

and I was also wondering if you knew the translations to these three words; wide, grand, island

Ulte is used to connect clauses and sì (always remember to use an ì, as si means something completely different) is used to connect two things.

There are buttons for ä and ì above the smileys on the right, but it's probably easier for you to learn the code for your system.

Focusing on the pronouns and affixes (oe, oeya, nga, aynga) and learning how to use the -l, -t, and -ru affixes really helped me with my first steps.

Hm. I've never used Vista so I don't exactly know....but Googling it turns up something that makes me think you don't have shortcuts but instead have to copy and paste from a character map. As this looks harder than using the handy buttons the forum provides, I'd suggest going with the buttons. ;)

EDIT: I had forgotten about Tirea Aean's kxwerty keyboard which will help you a LOT in typing Na'vi. I don't use it since I have a Mac, but it works well with Windows. You can get it here.
