Kaltxì!
I haven't been on here lately do to school starting and what not, but now I am starting to have more and more free time, and I really want to get back to learning.
So I had this idea. I would spend around a week on on each lesson in Na'vi in a Nutshell, and come on here a couple times a day with sentences, and get corrected on things I did wrong according to that lesson. So if I am on lesson 1, I could get corrections on things I messed up with on the first lesson, but nothing else until later on. And if I did well with that lesson, and I can do it without much help, then I will move on.
One question I had about this though is were to post. I will be making anywhere from 5-10 posts a week with sentences, and I know it would kind of clutter up the Beginner forum if I posted a knew topic every day. So could I just post the sentences in this thread? My only worry is that people will stop looking at it and I wont get any help with my learning.
Thanks and I hope I can start to learn this awesome language!

Yeah, other people have done this too. Anything you want to ask, feel free.

Sweet. I am going to start posting tomorrow...probably... lol.

Ok, I figured I would try my first sentence now cause I am very bored  :P
So this will for lesson 2.2.1-2 in NiaN, so please correct the suffixes and other 2.2.1-2 things. I will be happy to hear other criticism, but mainly about this. :)
Oel taron metäftxuyu
Oe-l taron me-taftxu-yu
I hunt weavers.

Target of hunt need to be accusative, and me+ causes lenition t->s
That also means (two) weavers, not sure if you intended that or not.

Yeah, I was going for multiple, and I figured I would just do 2.
So whatever is targeted by a verb needs the t/ti?

Payä Tìrol

To put it simply, yes. Sometimes it's not always obvious which is the direct object of the verb, and there are two types of verbs you'll learn later where the direct object takes the dative instead, but those work in an odd way, and the reason they take the dative should be clear once you learn about them.

To the first part, the plural prefix is "ay-". It, too, causes lenition. As for the second, mostly any (but not all) things targeted, used by, has any direct contact with the verb, receives "-t(i)". And it receives it, regardless of the subject, like oe new aysäftxuyuti tivaron (which you may not understand yet, but all the same). More or less, this example uses "new" as a verb that talks about something you want, which doesn't DO anything with anyTHING, but is still an action performed by you, thus oe does not become oel.

Additionally, verbs that follow the so-called 'modal verbs' (like new, zene, tsun and some others) need to take the subjunctive infix. This is where the <iv> comes from in tivaron.

It is legal phonotactically, but other than that if it is, it is canonical.

huh? plain English please. no big words that a 10th grader wouldn't know.

It follows the rules that say whether or not it could be a na'vi word (it follows the rules for syllable formation (it has legal phonotactics)) but if it is, it is not official because we haven't heard it from an official source (it isn't canon).

There's the simpler explanation (with my original explanation and technical vocab as asides in brackets to help you learn it.

oh....well most names we come up with aren't official, so so what? take Aungia Tsawkeyä for example. its my name in Na'vi, its just not something cameron ever officially mentioned.
