I'm really new to Na'vi, and I'm really confused about how to put sentences and phrases together. I was trying to translate my signature into Na'vi, but I think I'll probably word it wrong. Can anyone help me to understand how to put together sentences?

Be patient, it took me a month before i could combine cluases, try reading through the Na'vi in a nutshell guide.

Definitely read the nutshell guide, it should help you get the grammar sorted. If you struggle with the linguistic terms, you might want to have a look at the crash course in linguistic terminology also available on the downloads page of the main website.

As for your sig it would be:

unil     tìtswusayonteri         sngolä'i.    fkol        oeti    ke   yalmän                 slä krro          fko zene txen    slivu
dream NMLZ-PRTC-fly-about PRF-start. one-ERG 1-ACC NEG PST-PRF-tie down but time-INDF one must awake SBJ-become
I started having dreams of flying. I was free, but sooner or later, you have to wake up

I had to improvise for free because pxìset we don't have a word for free.

Okay so I have another question...

Does this mean "I am learning the Na'vi language." ?

Oe ma nerume Na'vi lì'fya?

Oe ma nerume Na'vi lì'fya?
Why the "ma"? take it out, Nume is transitive. Na'vi descrives the word lì'fya, thus making it a verb, English does not verbify/adverbify languages...but na'vi do.

Correction
Oe-l n<er>ume le-Na'vi-a lì'fya-ti

Oel nerume leNa'via lì'fyati.

Good luck with your learning and may Eywa be with you.

Alrighty, thanks. I'm still really new so I'm just experimenting with different sentences and seeing if I can put them together.
So it's...Oel nerume leNa'via lì'fyati.

Carborundum

Krrnekx nume nìNa'vi lì'fya.
Not quite. Firstly, nìNa'vi is an adverb. An adverb describes the way in which a verb is performed, for example oe tul nìwin = "I run fast", or oe plltxe nìNa'vi = "I speak Na'vily (in the way of the Na'vi)". You'll notice that both nìwin and nìNa'vi begin with nì-. This is the adverbial deriving prefix, serving the same purpose in Na'vi as the suffix -ly does in English (quick --> quickly). There are also adverbs that do not begin with this prefix, just as the are adverbs that do not end with -ly in English.
What we want here is instead an adjective, to modify the noun lì'fya. Le- is the adjective deriving prefix, so "the Na'vi language" is lì'fya leNa'vi or leNa'via lì'fya. Notice the final -a on leNa'vi in the second variant. Since Na'vi has free word order, it's necessary to clearly mark which noun is being modified by an adjective. This is done by putting -a- either as a prefix or a suffix on the adjective, between the adjective and the noun. The a- is in this case not needed in the first variant, because le- serves the same purpose.
Furthermore, lì'fya leNa'vi is the object of the transitive verb "nume", and so should take the accusative case -ti.
Finally, the verb "learn" is in infinitive form (this pretty much means that it's preceded by "to" in English), which in Na'vi is accomplished by the subjunctive infix <iv>.
The sentence should therefore be krrnekx nivume lì'fyati leNa'vi.

Carborundum is correct in his corrections but I have a few additions to make.

1. The na'vi language can also be said lì'fya na'viyä or na'viyä lì'fya meaning the language of the people as opposed to the peopley language (they both have the exact same usage though).

2. I'd say krrnekx couldn't use the modal syntax as you and carborundum have done. The modal syntax seems to be used when the clause being attached is behaving a bit like a direct object (hence with a lot of pseudo-modal verbs futa is often used) but here in krrnekx the clause being attached is the argument of an intransitive verb so you should use fwa.

3. Alternatively you could use a gerund but I'm not sure if na'vi gerunds are allowed to keep their arguments.

So you'd get:

krrnekx fwa nume lì'fyat(i) na'viyä

or

tìnusume lì'fyat lena'vi krrnekx (although this relies on na'vi gerunds being able to keep their arguments which we don't know.
