I think you might be interested in joining Project NgayNume or The Neytiri project. Also, check these useful documents, they can help you get started. And, most importantly, don't give up and don't be afraid to ask questions ;)

And don't be afraid to make mistakes. ;)

If you'd rather have spoken lessons so you can hear what it sounds like, you might be interested in following my podcasts. (Temporarily on hiatus but should be making new ones soon.)

I don't do nearly as much speaking as omängum does on his podcasts, but I teach for Avatar Nation (link in my signature) and I do a little bit of speaking there. I will do some more in later lessons :) I am also a teacher for Project NgayNume. Currently our classes are....not very well attended and not much is happening, tho we could always use another student. Go ahead and look at the board and if it sounds like something you're interested in let me know I can help you out :)

And if you like to hear spoken examples, you could follow @navi_wotd on twitter. This has become a joint effort of several people.
I send out a word every day and omängum fra'uti provides spoken examples (the word and its use in a sentence). Each word-tweet has a link to the spoken example. All the words and the examples are also available on the navi word of the day webpage.

It sounds to me like you are a visual/aural learner, and not a text learner (which I am). This means that multimedia tools will be the most effective way there is to learn.

A 'podcast' is a term that has become generic for a medium-length spoken message, which might be the spoken equivalent of a magazine article or a book chapter. They were originally popular with Ipod users, hence the name. But most podcasts can be listened to on nearly any audio device.

You might also check out 'See od Language' and 'Tree of Voices' under 'learning resources' for Rosetta Stone-like learning tools. There is also a flashcard screensaver I maintain the Na`vi (and soon Dothraki) vocabulary for. That is useful for vocabulary learning. That tool is up-to-date to about March 1st, but I do plan an update later this month when I am not traveling so much.

You might also want to check out Kaltxì Palulukan!'s 'Easiest Way to Learn Na`vi Ever' book, which is available on the Learnnavi homepage.
