No. I generally ignore capitalisation on na'vi to prevent inconsistencies arising from me being to lazy to learn the alt-codes for capital ì and ä and the lack of a capital '. Punctuation-wise, na'vi does a good job of showing most of it with words, but it can still be helpful for most people reading it so I'd still punctuate nì'ìnglìsì.

So the answer's no, but I'd not capitalise but would punctuate normally.

Ok cool. Because I was thinking about that, and the fact that it's a fictional spoken language but not a written one. So I was kind of leaning towards not capitalizing or using punctuation based on that.

and I'm lazy.

Sure then, feel free to be lazy. I tend to be quite lazy with my punctuation in English.

Make sure you don't fall into the trap, which I've done a few times, of getting into your head that the sentence you just wrote is already a question because of the question mark on the end, and forgetting to put in the "srak". I've done that so much, but I usually notice soon after.

As for capitalisation, I tend to capitalise (including Ä and Ì, and the things represented by >1 letter I do, for example, as Kx or Ts), apart from with ' - then I keep the ' lower-case (obviously) as well as the second letter of the sentence - it seems most correct that way. Capitalisation just looks neater to my eye trained in English... though TBH (jumping to an in-universe perspective here), since Na'vi was only written by the RDA rather than the Na'vi themselves, I'm pretty sure that they would have punctuated it pretty Englishly - with full stops and capital letters, commas perhaps, probably even question and exclamation marks, though probably not colon or semicolon .

Of course, srak isn't always correct e.g. tupel tok tsatsengit? doesn't use srak but, if I were to leave it as "tupel tok tsatsengit" with no question mark it would be easy for someone to miss the "-pe+" that makes this a question.

Yes, of course - but most of the questions I've been writing have been srak questions ("Nga new sivalew srak?" being the most common)

Try switching to norwegian keyboard. then the ` is SHIFT + the key on the left side of the backspace. and the ¨ is the key under it (no shift).

U.S. International is much nicer. It's standard U.S., only you can get special characters with Alt Gr combinations. ä is Alt Gr + q, Ä is Alt Gr + Shift + q. ì and Ì can be produced by first pressing the dead key ` (top left), and then i or I.

I prefer setting windows flag as compose key - then it's compose, ", a for ä, compose, ", A for Ä, compose, `, i for ì, compose, `, I for Ì (press all the keys separately). This also allows me to do other letters when I need to (German ä, ö, ü and ß - the last one being compose, s, s) I'm pretty quick at typing it now...

I never did capitalisation either, for the exact same reason of not having the patience to learn capitals for ä and ì

Does this mean that the button (=/+ on my keyboard) then becomes a modifier like Shift/Ctrl/Alt?
so [Shift][=] i becomes ì, and [=]a becomes ä?
