This is a test I want to run by you guys on a made up Na'vi word. If were to say,

Vurpengyu

What image comes into your minds?

That word seems be composed from vur+peng+yu

So narrator of stories? :)

JforA

Ha, yes! Bingo. I'm trying to deduce what the Na'vi would call the storytellers. After all, a people without an alphabet would place a lot of importance in oral tradition. So what would be the names of those individual who share the news, or tell the tales of legends so they're never forgotten?

Nice, that vurpengyu looks like as good idea :)

If I may trouble you once more, for your mind is gold to me. How would you translate the title Vrrtepeyktan? Would you say "Demon Leader' and is there leeway to have it doubly mean 'Chief of Demons' though the vrrtep is not plural.

"Chief of demons" comes into my mind too :)
