Jake didn't kill Tsu'tey, but rather finished his pain. Wainfleet cut Tsu'tey's hair. He was dying, and he couldn't connect to Eywa anymore, so he asked Jake to kill him at the Tree of Souls. He -before Jake killed him- announced that Jake will be the next olo'eyktan.

(we only saw as he fell down from the spaceship, but he survived the landing)

The point is i think either the previous olo'eyktan decides who'll be the next, or it's simply his son.
(in Eytukan's case, -if i'm right- it was the first, because he didn't have a son)

I think the same goes for the tsahìk, but i'm courious about the "previous decides who'll be the next" part in this case...

I'm kinda hoping they include that scene in the fan cut, it seems like a very powerful scene.

There's no word for dog, is there? Or horse?

The reaosn I ask is because horses and dogs (as well as all animals really) are my life's work... so I was hoping to create a name related to that.

Any suggestions? xx

they don't exist... yet.

And I have to add that given the fact none of those animals any longer exist in the Avatar universe I doubt they will create words for them or any terran animal other than humans that is.

You will probably have to settle for Pandoran Animals instead.

Ma Punkmaster, that post is extremely old and brionywolf hasn't posted since March, I doubt they're going to get your message. In future, just take a look at when a post was made before you reply to it rutxe. :)

Meynari Ke'nawm

My name is Meynari. (obviously) I was looking on an AVATAR wiki and that has a bunch of names under "Clan". Thar gave me inspiration. I just came up with something Na'vi-sounding. I later found out that the names' closest relative was "menari". For all those people that happened to not stumble upon the definition, that means "two eyes".

It suits me. I have a realist sense, and i can see in the "kameie" way. :)

An interesting way of finding a name is turning yours (last names work well) into Na'vi form. So say, Charlotte would be Karlìt. Then, you could edit it to sound more Na'vi. So... Charlotte would become Kalite, or Karte, or Karlit.  :)

Eyawng te Klltepayu

I'm thinking about getting a Na'vi name. I'm in two minds about what to choose. Either something based on my actual name (John) or something from my job (which involves groundwater). Could I be have a name that has something to do with underground water (pay äo kllte)?
Please tell me if you see mistakes in a Na'vi post of mine. It's the only way I'll learn. :P

Well Johnathan apparently comes from "God is gracious/merciful" in Hebrew so for that I'd go with:

Eywa zong which c/would be obfuscated along the following process Eywazong, Eyazong, Eyaong, Eyawng.

As for groundwater, I'm not sure I could come up with a good name based on that, sorry.

Eyawng te Klltepayu

Cool, thanks. Can it be individualised further? I'm sure there must be loads of people named 'John' who have used it as the basis for their Na'vi name. Or maybe I could be Eyawng te [dad's name] or something.

You might add pay (water) or kllte (ground) to the name perhaps.
Eyawng te payu something, where payu would be a combination of pay and the -yu suffix.

Just an idea.

If there can be compound words like txampay (sea), would klltepay also be valid? If so, could I be Eyawng te klltepayu?

It's a name so pretty much anything within the usual phonotactic rules is valid.

You can stick one on if you want, but as you've got it after te rather than as part of your given name I'd say probably not.

Arantele

Ok... so I'm a but confused... perhaps someone can help me out here... when I joined the forum earlier in the year, you all were kind enough to translate the meaning of my name (Ryan, which breaks down to "little King") to something along the lines of "hi olo eyktan" I believe it was.. So then, just a few weeks ago I went onto the avatar website, did the whole create my own personal avatar with a picture of mine, and then per the instructions put my name in... From their website, Ryan came out to "hanete" or "hanate"... I don't remember if it was an E, or an A... So what does that word translate out to? (Hanate, or Hanete) ???

Any help would be appreciated..

kewnya txamew'itan

We don't know how those "make your own avatar name" apps work, but they don't have anything to do with a translation of your name. A lot of them don't even have anything to do with na'vi and break the phonotactic rules or else never come up with certain combinations that are allowed.

Ikran Ahiyìk

You may pick a name following the rules randomly, because it is difficult to use short words to show the meaning.
As you said Ryan breaks down to "little King", but we can't see any "little King" by looking at "Ryan" only without knowledge on this or your mention, so it's not a problem to draw lots.
