I think that even Rey'an would work.

Rayan or Rayän seem like the closest names to Ryan IMO...

I'd actually go with Rayìn, the second vowel is a schwa in English (that just happens to spelt with an a in this case) and ì seems to be used more than other vowels as a generic reduced/not-really-there vowel.

Yeah, you're totally right on that, I didn't think of ì. :D

Or, the second vowel could also be a schwi in English.

In any case, if you're basing the Na'vi transliteration off of the English pronounciation, "Rayìn" would most certainly do it.

Hey all, big fan of Avatar, maybe not as big as all of you since you guys know the language and all that, but I was browing google for info detailing Na'vi names.

I am curious if anyone would know the Na'vi name to Cordin? I don't think the auto-translators help much.

Well, I just found this topic... And correct me if I'm wrong, but is "muvetsmukan" the meaning of "Thomas"? :D

That would depend on the meaning of Thomas.
Muve tsmukan would be "second brother".

Well... We don't have word for twin. :) And yeah, we don't know if it's possible for Na'vi, but let's assume it is. Still, they are more-less humanoid beings. :D

I think not. When in the womb they'd get their ketse in a knot. ;)

`Eylan Ayfalulukanä

I poked around in the dictionary a bit, and came up with a few candidates, the best of which is muneteng, which essentially means two-same. If you want to emphasize the unity in spirit more than physical identicalness, you could play around with tsaheylu and mune.

And Puvomun, if the tails do get tangled, are they tied in a knot`vi:D

sure. since it's a display name it doesn't matter as much if it's made up. if twins turn out to be possible, a word for it will come to exist.

hehe if my "real" name was translated into Na'vi it would be something along the lines of "Piaka Txanatan", which has a very pretty meaning but looks and sounds fairly cumbersome :-\

I would by that method be called ....actually I can't find a consistent meaning of Corey anywhere on the internet. I see several different things from several countries/languages. >.<

I'm just so in love with the Thanator so I decided to pick it! Unfortunately it means "super member" here! Hrh  ;D
