No, i don't think so... in my opinion you just hear the ergative "-l"...
(But i can be wrong... i hear that "r" too...)

yes, that makes perfect sense!:)

but i am still under strong impression that there is a "r" or "rr" between skypeople and message...maybe "sawtute" is topicalised?

I may have asked this in another thread but where abouts in the world are you from?

If you've got a different dub, that could explain it.

i am from serbia, but no, we don't dub movies, we subtitle them, so all the lines are original.

maybe i just misheard it, or perhaps, tsu'tey is not the best pronouncer:)

Nice clip C Based.

Really sheds light own worlds beauties as well.

It also sounded like Tsu-tey said "na Tsmuke" in the brothers and sisters part of the speech, not "ulte tsmuke" like it should be

it goes like this, i'm positive:

jake: my brothers...
tsu'tey: ma smukan...
jake: sisters...
tsu'tey: ma smuke...

litterally, tsu'tey should say "ma oeyä smukan, ma smuke", but he said "ma smukan, ma smuke", which is basically the same thing contextually (if you say "brother" to someone, it is clearly understood that you think he is your brother, not "a brother").
jake didn't say "and", so there was no need for "ulte". also, it is important that you keep in mind that "ulte" connects to phrases, and "sì" connects two things, words. so, if jake did say "brothers and sisters" and if tsu'tey was translating word by word, he would have said "ma smukan sì ma smuke".

Quote2. a fo tsun mivunge fra'ut a new
that they can take whatever they want

I'm a beginner. What does that "a" mean at the beginning? Didn' find it in the dictionary

I very much doubt they would dub over the Na'vi, would they? o_O But I don't know, only watched it in English so far.

1. Are you using the pocket guide? It should be in the latest version of Taronyu's dictionary (and has been for ages). It is a clause level attributive which means that it makes the entire clause an attribute of the noun before it so "sawtute-l ayoeng-ur fp<ol>e' 'upxare-t a fo tsun m<iv>unge fra'u-t a new" breaks down as "{sawtute-l ayoeng-ur fp<ol>e' 'upxare-t a {fo tsun m<iv>unge fra'u-t a {new}}}" or the sky people have sent us a message that they can take everything that they want.

2. The na'vi does seem to be different judging by a lot of people's comments about varying pronunciations.

Ah, irayo tìkawngä. Yeah, now I see it in the dictionary. Don't remember if I missed it before or just wasn't sure how to interpret "subordinate clause marker (wh_, that)". But it's clear now. ^^

Another question:

Quote6. layolo'ur peng ziva'u  00:54
tell the other clans to come

And what does that "layolo'ur" mean?
olo = clan
peng = tell
z<iv>a'u = come

Is this related to "lahe" = other and the plural "ay", maybe? Meaning "lay" means "the others" ?

When I try to hear it, to me it sounds like "6. ayolo(ro?/ur?) lahe (ur?) peng ziva'u"

Boy, the whole speech is really difficult to hear. :( I can barely make out any words.

C Based

I read the responses and relistened to the youtube clip.  What I currently believe to be Tsu'tey's dialog is bolded and immediately following what I believe to be Jake Sully's dialog.  Many thanks to Txur'Itan for his work which this is largely based off.  I have highlighted parts of 2, 3 and 4 because, to my untrained ears, it sounds different from the movie dialog.  The highlighted parts of 4, 11 and 12 are unintelligible to me as well.

1. The Sky People have sent us a message (0:22-0:27)
Ngar sawtute fpole' 'upxaret

2. that they can take whatever they want (0:27-0:32)
a fo tsun mivunge fra'ut a new

3. and no one can stop them. (0:32-0:35)
ulte kawtu tsun ftivang fot.

4. But we will send them a message. (0:35-0:41)
Slä ayoengìl for 'upxaret fpaye' XXXX.

5. You ride out as fast as the wind can carry you. (0:41-0:48)
Kämakto nìwin -> ayngati spi _ale.o_pel_.

6. You tell the other clans to come. (0:48-0:53)
Layolo'ur peng ziva'u.

7. You tell them Toruk Makto calls to them. (0:53-0:58)
Oer peng si futa/('aw) Toruk Makto.

8. You fly now, with me. (0:58-1:02)
Tswayon set oehu.

9. My brothers! (1:02-1:03)
Ma tsmukan!

10. Sisters! (1:03-1:05)
Ma tsmuke!

11. And we will show the Sky People (1:05-1:09)
Sawtute XXXX

12. that they cannot take whatever they want. (1:09-1:12)
XXXX kehe sivi.

13. And that this . . . (1:12-1:14)
Fìtsenge . . .

14. This is our land! (1:14-1:20)
Ayoengä!/awengä!

The time in parenthesis corresponds to the location on the YouTube clip that I'm posting here for convenience if anyone wants to listen to it:
Avatar - Jake Sully , Na'vi hero , sent you a message to fight for our Earth
Hopefully, the official Na'vi dialog (see http://forum.learnnavi.org/vocab-phrases/behind-the-scenes-navi-dialog-for-jake/) will be released at some point in the near future to clear all this up . . .

^Yea, a nice transcript released by Cameron or Fox would be sooo nice to clear some things up.

Hey guys, I just found an interesting version of the speech, which to my ears sounds a lot like the youtube clip. I've tried to number it accordingly:

Quote1. Sau tawtute lu'upxare,
2. oël nitxan neu
3. tsni munge.
4. Sa'aylaru pare fpiye fol:
5. kämakto niwìm a'na txing tsway'awpo oël.
6. Ayolo'lu ayla-eyk emzi'au,
7. ulte peng ayforu Touruk Makto
8. tswayon set eo,
9., 10.  ma smukan! Ma smuké!
11. Saw tawtute winxtu ayfo vay set neu emzi'vit.
12., 13. Fitsenge... ayoeng'eyä!

Source.

I don't know if this is anything official. For all I know some fan could have just scratched it together based on limited vocabulary knowledge and what the clip sounded like. But it sounds quite good. What do you guys think? Could someone who's better at Na'vi than me take it apart?
It's kinda late, I gotta go sleep. ^^

I've listened to this clip again and again, but I can find no fpole' between sawtute and 'upxaret.
I think Tsu'tey translates only "the sky people have sent a message", because I can't hear ayoengä/aywengä/awngeyä or anything like that.
I wasn't able to understand the first word, it sounded like ele or le, so fpole' could be possible.
I think it could be either sawtute, sawtutel or sawtuter, each of these versions is possible.

but I have a question, this <ol>, everyone said that it has to be after the first consonant of the last syllable, or the syllable before.
shouldn't it mean f<ol>pe' then?

and the last question, skyperson means tawtute, and skypeople should mean aysawtute right?
why does he say only sawtute?

Mithcoriel

If a word has a consonant that softens, like tawtute --> sawtute, you don't necessarily have to say the "ay", since softening the first consonant is enough to make it clear the plural is meant.

Ma TsawkeTxon!
That "fpole' ", you're speaking about is the very forst word Tsu'tey says (in the Hungarian dub you can hear it easily ;))
Exactly: he just says "the sky people has sent a message" (Fpole' (ay)sawtutel 'upxarit)
No, it it is " fp<ol>e' " (the infixes goes before the last, or the penultimate vowel).

And ma Mithcoriel is right: "ay-" causes lenition, so "t" becomes "s" and you don't have to say the "ay-" anymore.
