I like the sound of your idea, what first sentences did you work on?

'Tsamsiyu

Do some really really simple sentences...

to start you off try and work out the Na'vi for

1. I hunt

2. I am hunting

3. I am a warrior

4. I was hunting

5. I will hunt.

The way I do it is...

Find out all the words that I will need, you may have to improvise a bit due to the limited Vocab but get them all down in english order. Now Na'vi doesn't have a specific word order but from most examples I have seen the verb goes well at the end... so the 'doing word' as they say.

Once you have the word order sorted out search to see if you need an infix/suffix/prefix or affix.

When i do it i always have the Vocab list up, Taronyu's 'Inflections and their Uses'.pdf and the 'Easy guide to suffixes, infixes and prefixes'.

I read the easy guide and look for the Inflection I may need, then check on Taronyu's .pdf which positions to put it in and to clarify thats the right one.

1. Vocab - http://www.learnnavi.org/navi-vocabulary/
2. 'Inflections and their Uses' - http://forum.learnnavi.org/index.php?topic=1142.15
3. 'Easy guide to suffixes, infixes and prefixes' - http://forum.learnnavi.org/index.php?topic=353.0

That should get you started. Try and nail all the Grammer well when you start, it's a pain if you don't.

Best way to start is with Phonetics and Phonology. (letters and how they sound)

Then you learn the Grammar.

After that you learn some basic phrases for example:
Oe nga kameie - I see you

Inject Na'vi words into your posts:
Oe like to speak in Na'vi

Read more of peoples posts.

Create your own phrases and post them for people to check your grammar and spelling.
