I stumbled on this bumpersticker today, laughed, and almost bought it because I'd love to drive around with "My other ride is an Ikran" in Na'vi on my car.  However.... I'm pretty sure there's an error here, and would feel like a skxawng driving around with a mistake.   




So....it seems that lamakto is the error here, at least to me.    La isn't a prefix all on it's own (or is it?), so la should be lahe, kefyak?   And makto is a verb, not a noun.   It would be nice if we could use tìmakto, but I know that tì is not productive and tìmakto isn't in the dictionary, so that's out. 

So how would you say this correctly?  Is there a way?  I know it's an idiom, but still.... I love this idea.

This idea for a bumper sticker is intriguing enough (and I think I suggested it a long time ago in the 'merchandise' area, now that I think about it) that coming up with 'legal' wording that works is worth the time. I now remember that I suggested that toruk and palulukan would also work well.

The seller is called Ghedipunk on CafePress.  Looks like there are only two items, this bumpersticker and a shirt with the same text.

Yes!  We could have the text (once we have the noun-makto) in the blue glow Papyrus with "LearnNavi.org" in smaller letters underneath.   I'd buy an Ikran one!

That's actually a pretty good approximation although personally I'd switch the word order a bit. I'd probably go with:

oel ikranit makto kop
or
makto kop ikranit oel

But I have very little to base that on.

Ah yes, good point, since I am trying to avoid the whole "driving around like a grammar skxawng" thing.

Given "toruk makto" and the existence of kämakto I'd be surprised if it couldn't take an argument for the noun which, in English is the direct object. That said, there's no reason this couldn't take a different case or an adposition.

Wouldn't "Oe makto fa ikran kop." fit, as well playing safe if the verb makto turns out to be intransitive?

But if the verb turns out to be intransitive that sounds very strange, like saying "I ride by a horse" in English, and what if it takes a different adposition, then again it would sound strange and unidiomatic.
