progress report

You know, i've started to learn by learning words i will use the most and then trying to put them together in a sentence. is this smart? or am i going about this wrong? plus i am learning some technicall stuff at the same time. i end up learning 3-4 words a day. is this good progress? anyway this is just me voicing my thoughts to others who will understand. Iranyo eytsmuk.

Anyways: the word you want here is irayo, and the plural marker is "ay-" -> aysmuk (plural markers cause lenition), or simply smuk.

I find one of the most productive ways to figure stuff out early on is to remember basic sentences you use during the day, and try to translate them in your head, if you've got the vocab, or remember/write down the sentence so that you can translate it later.  Start with simple stuff until you get the hang of ergative/accusative, genitive and dative case markers: I am going home. She was tired, and went to bed, etc etc.

3-4 words a day is a good start. I'm finding though, with a good flash card program and 1/2 an hour to an hour a day that I can learn words at a relatively speedy rate. Everyone has their methods; find out what works best for you.
