As with any language, I like to learn them the way I have learned french in elementary school
the most used and most common verbs we learned first.
Having just started learning Na'vi, I cannot seem to find these key verbs ???
like :
To have/own
To do
To go
To come
To make
...

I only know the verb To be (lu) 8)
that's about it...

Thank you for your help!  ;D

I'm not sure why you couldn't find go, come or make...

Go - kä
Come - za'u
Create - ngop
Make/build - txula

The rest you can't find because they don't exist.  If you want to say something like "do that" you can say "tsakem si", but "si" on its own doesn't mean do, it's always paired with another word, and the meaning can vary depending on what the word is.

To express having something, you'd use "lu", along with the indirect object/dative.  "Lu oeru syuve" - I have food

For "to have", you use lu (to be) and the dative on the person who has it. The approximate English translation would be "there is to X, Y". For example:

Lu oeru syuve

I have food (literally Be to me food)

To do, you either use the actual verb or you use noun si. If you're talking completely generically, you can use tsakem si (tsakem = that action), or fìkem si (fìkem = this action).

To come is za'u, it's in Taronyu's dictionary

To make, you could either use to create (ngop) or to build (txula)

EDIT: Beaten - and we almost used the same examples ;P

Wow fast response!  :o :o :o
Thank you both, very informative! Although you two did say nearly the same  :D

What about colors??? I always want to know the colors in a language first
Dunno why  :D

Muzer

There aren't many colours that we know.

You'll do well by looking in Taronyu's dictionary - THE best and most up-to-date (on average) dictionary. Occasionally the WikiBooks page gets ahead of it I've heard, but more often than not that's caused by taronyu being too busy and is soon corrected. You can find it at the top of the "Intermediate" subforum, in a thread called "Our dictionary".

Na`vi color words are a subject of considerable debate here. Look in the 'Language updates' forum, and within that, the 'Vocabulary Expansion project' for some very interesting discussions on the subject. For now, it is in the hands of the language's creator, Paul Frommer.

At this time, we have just a few words for colors:

ean -  blue or green
rim - yellow
layon - black. Note the stress in this word is on 'yon'. The 'ay' in this word is NOT a dipthong.
teyr - white
And one color modifier
vawm - dark
