A ouple of weeks ago, someone asked for a translation of this interesting text:

It is not the strongest of species that survive, nor is it the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.

Here's what I came up with:

Ayswirari, ke lu txur frato fwa emrey fu ayfo akanu, slä ayfo a tsun livatem nìtxan.

You could also use Fneayswirari as the first work if you want to emphasize the 'species' idea more.

Ah, I remember me that discussion in the shoutbox.
My attempt after some thoughts:

Ke emrey txur fu kanu frato ayswirä, ki tsayfo a tsun hiva' tìlatemur.
Not the strongest or most intelligent species survive, but those who can match change.

Corrections or suggestions are welcome. :)

Hmmm... ha' is an interesting choice here, which you translated as 'match'. None of the definitions of that interesting word match very precisely. I thought we had a word for 'embrace', but we don't. I also checked 'handle', 'process' and 'endure', but we don't have words for those, either. Got some new words to coin...

Ke emrey txur fu kanu frato ayswirä, ki tsayfo a tsun hiva' tìlatemur.
Not the strongest or most intelligent species survive, but those who can match change.

I'd say the grammar is somewhat off... "they suit the change"? I'd say the change suits them.

... tsayfo a tsun tìlatem for ha' makes more sense.

My attempt is a bit looser ...

Ayswiräri ftxey txur frato, ftxey kanu frato ke tsranten – tsayfo a latem emrayey.
It doesn't matter whether creatures are strongest or most intelligent – those who change (will) survive.

Ah, I tried to think a bit differently, and indeed, I found ha' a bit weird. But I just let my sentence as it is. :)

But we still need <iv> because of tsun, isn't it? Otherwise I don't understand.
Ke emrey txur fu kanu frato ayswirä, ki tsayfo a tsun for(u) tìlatem hiva' - Do not survive creatures strongest or most intelligent, but those, for which change can suit/fit.

I had to read source sentence more times to get correct meaning, based on that I'd would use:
Ke emrey ayswirä atxur fu akanu frato, slä tsayfo a tsun mivll'an aysälatemit - Survive not creatures strongest or most intelligent, but those who can accept changes (and concrete changes, not abstract, IMHO)
More safely: Ke emrey ayswirä atxur fu pum akanu frato, slä tsayfo a tsun mivll'an sälatemit.

'ä'  :-X you are right of course! :)
