Kaltxi frapo!

I have just written the first draft of a Na'vi Learning Guide which i would like feedback on (if possible)

It is written primarily for those who have had extremely little to no knowledge of Na'vi, but I would also be happy if more experienced users would like to read through to see if my guide makes sense.

All feedback very much appreciated.

The document is in a PDF, and appears long winded, but this is due to me writing it as a Step-by-Step guide. You will see if you read it :P

Well, that's all i have to say about it, i hope it's useful :)

*EDIT*

I have taken tìkawngä mungeyu's exceptionally handy advice (txan irayo ma smukan) and have edited the PDF. Version 1.1 is now in the link.

Here's the link to it: http://www.mediafire.com/file/00zntuyingn/Topic One - Kaltxi.pdf

Downloaded it and i will go through it tonight, i'm still a novice though so i will be using it as a learning tool not critiquing it ;)

Katxì!

This is just me, but at some points you have accents on 'i's and 'e's you don't need (4th page "uninitiated" and as i know we don't have accents on kìyevame (except the one on 'ì')), also: the accent on the 'i' should lean to the other direction (not í, but ì) in the word "sì".

But it's very good and helpful (to teach while being funny... will make news like na'vi and your future works :D) !!!!!!
Hope you'll make one about inflections and sentence making for thhose, who have problems with it (like me!) :D

As people have said, the acute accents can be a bit confusing (even if they are the correct way to indicate stress) personally I prefer underlining to indicate stress.

You've got the stress on the wrong syllable on kìyevame, it should be kìyevame.

You haven't differentiated between sì and ulte (sì links nouns, ulte links clauses).

Kaltxì, kìyevame and sì should have ìs not is.

The and you response should use ulte (you're implying the complete sentence) and the current consensus is that nga should be inflected for case so it should read srane, ulte ngaru srak?

We're not unsure what ma translates as, it doesn't. English has no vocative marker any more (although it used to in the old English O as in O brother where art thou).

You've used a capital I in -ti at the bottom of page 6 that some people might think is an l.

In your don't get confused box, you've used normal is in both whereas the first should have an ì (actually I think you've got an acute accent not a grave one, the accent is going the wrong way).

On the question page, the answer to question 1 should be srane, ulte ______ srak (see above for my reasoning as to why it should be different from what you've suggested)

Lastly, aren't there 7 questions and so 7 possible marks at the end?

It's very good and an ambitious project I wouldn't have attempted, the only reason I'm pointing out all of these is that people will be learning from this (as it is a very helpful project) and so it has to be perfect and up to date.

Kaltxi,

To those that have replied, txan irayo. Your criticism has been taken on board, and I'll edit the worksheet
tonight. With the accent issue, I just want to say that Papyrus is not the greatest font in the world for accents :p

but anyway, thanks to those that have had a go at it.

One last question: is the walkthrough style explanation useful? At the moment the sheets are quite long winded, but I thought it might be easier to understand.

Txan irayo, ulte Eywa ngahu ma smukan.

When the next one comes out, I'll edit the main post and place a link up there.

Can you put it somewhere other than Mediafire? Having problems getting it from there.

I wonder if this could be made a sticky, ya know with each topic added with its link and a little explanation about it? Almost like an Na'vi class, if you will.

lol.
